Return to Byrneville Home Page

Here is one of Byrneville's oldest houses. This house was over 100 years old when it was torn down in 1995. Old and not very sturdy, but a very neat house.

This house is interesting to look at. You can look at houses today and realize the amazing changes in houses back then and houses now. Most houses have carpet, tile, or vinyl flooring. They are also insulated, painted, or had wall paper. They have electric heating and more than three rooms. When we looked inside this house it was like going back in time. It had old-fashioned wooden floors, no insulation, and an old wood heater, a small living area and one small bedroom. This is a very good example of how things have advanced highly today.
