Bobby and Buck Goodwin

Do these children look familiar? They should. They were once featured on a box of Kellogg's Corn Flakes cereal. Robert H. (Bobby) and James R. (Buck) stopped their summer playing long enough for their mother to snap the photo back in 1940. After having the film developed at Rox Studio, a photo supply on Palafox Street, the mother was asked if she would allow a company to use the photo in advertising. The mother signed a release, and later the picture showed up on the back of the cereal box. The Goodwins have close ties to the Byrneville area. Although Bobby is no longer living, his brother Buck is. A good many of the Goodwin relatives were married at the Byrneville Methodist Church and the Bratt Godwin Cemetery in Bratt. They are direct descendents of John Bruton, Joseph Brewton, Elizabeth Brewton, and William O. Goodwin.
