Industry

Industry plays an important role in any community, whether it be a huge "Metropolis" or a small farming community such as our town.

Our Town may be a farming community, although hardly any one farms anymore. There is somewhere around six or maybe seven farmers left in our little town.

 

Many people that live in Bratt work at one of two major companies that have laid ground in the area. These two companies are Champion Paper and Monsanto.

 

Those who do not work at the nearby companies work at a community owned store or work in the nearby communities of Century, Florida or Atmore, Alabama.

 

One locally owned store is Cooper's Marketplace. This store is the only gas station in town.  It is also a morning hangout for students of local Northview High School. This store enables the students who stop to get their breakfast if they happened to have had a late start that morning.

Another local business, or if you wish you could call it a government business, is the Escambia County Road Department's North Camp.  This County Department's main priority is the upkeep and repair of the dirt roads in our area.
