Four people were injured in a single vehicle rollover accident near the Alabama/Florida state line about 2:00 Monday afternoon.

The four, a 17-year-old driver and three children, were injured in the accident on Miller Road, a dirt road just east of Rockaway Creek Road, less than half mile south of the state line. None of the injuries were believed to life threatening. The injured were transported by Atmore Ambulance to Atmore Community Hospital.

The driver told authorities she swerved to avoid a deer and lost control of the Jeep on the muddy roadway. The vehicle overturned, and came to rest  in the roadway on the driver’s side.

The Walnut Hill Station of Escambia Fire-Rescue and the Florida Highway Patrol also responded to the call.

The accident is still under investigation by the FHP.

it was my daughter who was in the accident, there was a deer I saw the tracks. That road has a history of deers on it. She was not careless. She hit the embankment. All my other kids are fine. If you want to say mean things don’t say anything at all.

Why do you assume just because a young person had a wreck that they were careless or drunk. Maybe they just didn’t know how to drive on a wet dirt road. Give them a break sometimes!!

we live on a dirt road..and when its wet its slick…i can see where this can happen ….if the she is not a skilled dirt road driver…yup i can see it…i have it a few deer myself…guess i have been lucky not to flip my suv…hope all the ppl in the wreck are ok…

I hope all of the people in the car are ok. Accidents happen all the time and we can never be too careful. We use to see deers only @ deer hunting season, now we see them all the time.

ok LETS GET THIS RIGHT………On a dirt road, you are going fast enough to flip over and cause injury???? Did the deputies happen to look for those “deer tracks”?? Another driver not using a brain!!

A deer accident is possible no matter how carefully or skillfully one is driving. I know that from experience. I do hope no one just assumes this young girl was being careless/doing anything wrong. Many older folks do not know not to jerk the steering wheel when they encounter any object, moving or stationary, or when they run off the edge of the road. I am so thankful no one was seriously injured. I held my breath when I saw the green SUV. One of my grandkids is still driving a green SUV, as far as I know. My heart drops when I hear of any accident, but it jumps a lot more if it is someone I know and love.

I hope everyone involved are all okay. Kids need to slow down and be careful, especially on wet, clay roads. I too know this from experience, however I was fortunate enough to have been the only one in the vehicle and did not crash.
