Schools

There are no schools in the Nokomis area. For those who live in the Nokomis area, and have school -age children, their kids attend classes at Bratt Elementary, Ernest Ward Middle, and Northview High. But for many years at the corner of Nokomis and Pineville Roads ,there was a two -room school that housed grades 1-6. The school was made of wood with plenty of windows in each room. There was no indoor plumbing, but there were two large toilets located outside: one for the men, and one for the ladies. Some of the former teachers were Mr. and Mrs. Homer Lambert and Ms. Grace Mays. The school was later closed, and the remaining students were sent 10 miles east to the then Davisville School.
