Industry and Business to the small area of Nokomis was virtually nonexistent until a few years ago, when the West Florida cotton gin was constructed in order to provide services for farmers from areas, such as Walnut Hill, Davisville, McDavid, Bratt, and the surrounding farming communities of Northwest Florida.
