Northview Wins First Weight Meet Of Season

The Northview Boy’s Weightlifting defeated Rocky Bayou Wednesday by a total score of 50-20 in the first meet of the season.

Individual winners for the Chiefs were:

119-lb. class – Greg Pressley with a total of 270 pounds (145-bench; 125-jerk)
129-lb. class – Dalton Hadley with a total of 270 pounds (160-bench; 110-jerk)
139-lb. class – MJ Jones with a total of 350 pounds (185-bench; 165-jerk)
154-lb. class – Ohijie Elliott with a total of 450 pounds (245-bench; 205-jerk)
169-lb. class – Chase Olsen with a total of 480 pounds (255-bench; 225-jerk)
183-lb. class – Tim Bush with a total of 375 pounds (195-bench; 180-jerk)
219-lb. class – Jacob Hawkins with a total of 325 pounds (170-bench; 155-jerk)
Heavyweight class – Justin Helton with a total of 420 pounds (225-bench; 195-jerk)

Also placing for the Chiefs were Caze Bradley (2nd place; 119-lb. class); Ossie Crusaw (3rd place; 139-lb. class); Colten Dockens (2nd place; 154-lb. class); Tyler Kite (2nd place; 219-lb. class).

The Northview weightlifting team returns to action on Wednesday, February 15 at West Florida.

Tate Cheerleaders Place At State In Coed Division

Northview Football Volunteers At Ronald McDonald House

Members of the Northview Chiefs football team spent their Saturday morning volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House in Pensacola.

The players completed various tasks and chores for the Ronald McDonald House, including moving furniture and appliances, cleaning, stocking and sorting “pop tops” from cans.

Teams Needed For Cade Allen Benefit Softball Tournament

January 26, 2017

A two-day Cade’s Benefit Softball Tournament will be held February 3-4 at the Don Sutton Ballpark in Molino.

There will be 12 teams maximum, with at least 10 people on each team. Teams must have three females on the field with at least four females on the team.

$15 per person with funds due to Friday, January 27 to Amy Holland in Northview High School’s front office. For more information, Call  Amanda Pritchett at (850) 418-2502.

Northview student Cade Allen had surgery in Orlando during Christmas break and suffered severe complications that have kept him unconscious and in ICU.

Tate High Wrestling Places At Gator Brawl

Tate High School’s wrestling team recently traveled to Wewahitchka High School for the Gator Brawl. Nine Aggies placed in the top ten, while six received medals.

Alex Porter — 1st, 120 pounds
Matthew Blalock — 3rd, 126 pounds

Kendall Townley — 1st, 138 pounds
Juan Alvarez — 3rd, 152 pounds
Alex Young — 10th, 170 pounds

The Tate Aggies placed fifth overall, with five wrestlers not able to attend.

Northview Football Players Read To Byrneville Elementary Students

Several senior Northview High School football players read to students at Byrneville Elementary School on Tuesday for National Literacy week. Players reading to students were Luke Ward (#1), Devin Stabler (#11), Dustin Bethea (#52), Alston Wiggins (#54), Hunter Cofield (#55) and Dillon Clary (#60).

Tate High Cheerleaders Headed To State Competition

The Tate High School cheerleaders have advanced through the semi-finals on the way to represent the Aggie Nation in Gainesville  this weekend for the state championship. Three Tate Aggies Named To Florida All-State Class 6A Football Team

Three Tate High School Aggies made the Florida All-State Class 6A football team.

First Team Offense -  P – Evan Legassey 6-3 190 Sr.

Second Team Offense  – UT – Jake Henry 5-11 180 Sr.

Honorable Mention -  DB – Patrick Palmer 5-11 175 So.

Northview Dance Team Honored, Coach Stepping Down

January 20, 2017

Member of the Northview High School Dance Team were honored Thursday as the team said goodbye to a longtime coach. Heather Leonard, who founded the team in 2011, announced that after six seasons she is stepping down as team coach. Leonard will continue to offer private dance lessons in Byrneville and coach a private competition team.

The Northview Dance Team has been a fixture at fall football games and other school events since its inception.

Northview’s Ward, Robinson Named To All-State Teams

Northview High School’s Luke Ward and Neikel Robinson were selected to the 2016 AP Class 1A All-State Teams.

Ward, a senior, was selected as a 1st-team Utility player after throwing for 1,121 yards, rushing for 1,117 yards and accounting for 27 total touchdowns.

Robinson, a junior, was selected as a 2nd-team WR after having 48 catches for 818 yards and 6 TD.
