Michael Anthony Toliver
June 26, 2022
Michael Anthony Toliver, 72, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on May 27th, 2022. He was born in Washington, D.C on March 04, 1950. He was proud of his country and served in the United States Navy for twenty years until he retired. Michael enjoyed the simple things in life. Such as, reading a good book, working on computers, listening to rock and roll and spending time with his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Virginia Toliver. He is survived by his loving wife Carmelita; stepchildren Ronnie Leal, Connie Leal, Carol Leal and Christina Leal; brothers John Toliver and Chris Toliver. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 27th, 2022 from 11am to 12 pm.
Service will begin at noon with interment to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 South Highway 29, Cantonment, Florida is entrusted with arrangements.
Marcus Lance Smith

Marcus Lance Smith of Cantonment passed away June 10, 2022. Lance was a graduate of Tate High School class of 2001.
Lance had several jobs after graduation but it wasn’t long before he found his passion in aviation. He started with Marianna Airmotive building doors on DC planes. He then moved with Danna to Indiana. Lance worked for AAR where he worked on a production line for Airbus. He made sheet metal repairs on nose cones. From there they travelled to Orlando to work on an F35 production line for Lockheed Martin. Finally, they made it back home where Lance worked as a Plane Captain for Dynacorp at Whiting Field. Lance found his true forever love when he met Danna. After being “friends” for 10 years they finally married in June 12, 2015. In August 2015, Lance and Danna moved out west to California. There Lance worked for PAE at Barstow Daggett Airport on Black Hawks & Huey helicopters.
Lance & Danna finally had enough of California and made their way back home the end of January 2022. Lance was at a crossroad trying to decide if he was ready for a career change. At the time of Lance’s passing he was working with a friend in a recreational business. Lance was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents William H. McKenzie & Peggy Booth McKenzie Jackson. His paternal grandparents Morris L. & Elizabeth Smith, his Aunt, Deborah Archer. Lance is survived by his wife Danna, son Jaden Lewis, step daughters Alexia & Courtney Smith & grandson Grayson. His parents Doug & Lydia Smith, Brothers, Lonnie Smith, Shawn (Courtney) Smith, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and his beloved Baby Kane. We must mention some very special friends of Lance by name. Chris Slater, Daniel Goodwin, Shannon (Cornbread) Phillips, Randy Brasch, Dustin Ward & Pat Siemens. Each of these guys walked different roads with Lance. We are just thankful that one road led Lance & Danna back to us. Rest in Eternal peace Lance. You will be forever loved and missed. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. The service will follow immediately after at 11:00 AM. Following the service, please join us at the Hadji Shrine Temple on 9 Mile Rd for lunch & fellowship.

Mary Sue Beasley Day

Mrs. Mary Sue Beasley Day, born February 15, 1949 to the late Amon and Mable Hollinhead in Century, FL; passed away June 9, 2022in Brewton, AL. She was a member of Springhill Primitive Baptist Church.
She valued her time she got to spend with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed going fishing, camping, and being with her pets.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Mable Hollinhead, and one husband, JB Day.
She is survived by her two sons, David (Yvonne) Beasley, of Danville, KY; Michael (Wemberlee) Beasley, of Brewton, AL; seven grandchildren, Shea, Tabitha (Matt) Adam, Ethan, Darcy, Jacob, Emily, three great-grandchildren, Mason, Zoey, Zachary, other relatives and friends.
Memorial service along with Eastern Star service prior will be held Friday, June 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Flomaton First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Harris officiating
Joan DiMatteo Hackman

Joan DiMatteo Hackman of Atmore, AL passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022, with her
family by her side. Mrs. Hackman was born in Wilmington, Delaware on November 23,
1934 to the late Vincent F. DiMatteo and Bertha G. DiMatteo. She was preceded in death
by her parents and by her brother, Robert V. DiMatteo.
She is succeeded by Herbert V. Hackman, Jr., husband; her son Jeff (Rhoda) Hackman of
Spanish Fort, AL; her daughters Sara (Mike) Brown of Atmore, AL, and Margie (Gene)
Pandolfi of Brandon, MS; and her sister Carole J. Lattomus of Wilmington, DE. She has
five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hackman was very active in the Atmore community and was very proud of her
service to the community through the Red Cross, and especially her role in the
establishment of the Welcome Center in Heritage Park. She loved the beaches of both the
Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf Coast.
A celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks at Johnson-Quimby Chapel in
Atmore, AL at a date to be announced later, followed by a memorial service the next day at
Saint Anna’s in Poarch, AL.
Donna Marie Bell

Mrs. Donna Marie Bell, age 64, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at her Flomaton, AL residence.
Mrs. Bell was born in Middletown, PA and had been a long-time resident of Flomaton, AL. She was an avid hunter and fisherwoman; a computer whiz, seamstress, and thoroughly enjoyed a good book. Dawn Lee McKenna was a favorite author of hers. Donna was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church. She especially enjoyed encouraging and ministering to young adults. She worked with Liberty National Insurance Company for several years. She worked as IT Director for the City of Brewton while serving as Interim Director of the Brewton Public Library between 1993 – 2002. Donna and her husband owned and operated W.J. Hall Logging Co. until 2011, where she kept the books.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, James William Bell; father and mother, Dewey and Marie Morris; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rum and Myrdice Bell; several brothers and sisters-in-law; two baby nieces, Tina Marie Morris, and Melanie Nycole Joyner; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. And one special furry friend, Mickey.
She is survived by one daughter, Jeanie Bell Smith of Flomaton; one son, John William Bell of Pueblo, CO; one sister, Debbie (Jeff) Wright of Pineview; one brother, Jerry (Margaret) Morris of Pineview; two granddaughters, Hannah (Artimus) Bell of Denver, CO, and Alyssa (Nyx) Blackwell of Milton, FL; one adopted granddaughter, Corynn Meyer of Denver, CO; two grandsons, Tristan Bell of Flomaton, Tyler Bell of Pueblo, CO; one paternal aunt, Eleanor Morris Whitacre; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. And one special furry friend, Sue-Sue.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced by Craver’s Funeral Home.
Brenda Gibbs Wade

Brenda Gibbs Wade, passed away at her home on June 5 th at the age of 78.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Dr. Lloyd Robert Wade, Jr. and survived by
her two children Samantha and Chip (Allison). She had three loving grandchildren: Ella, Ford, and Gibbs.
Brenda was a loving sister to her three sisters Girdielene (Shine), Sherry, Marcia, and her brother Johnny
(Julia).
Brenda was a proud spouse of a veteran with 24 years of Military service. Brenda grew up in Atmore,
Alabama and graduated from Escambia County High School in 1962 and Providence Nursing School in
1964. She started her nursing career at Abernathy Hospital in Flomaton Alabama starting in 1965. Being
married to a military officer and stationed in Charleston, South Carolina, San Francisco, California,
Yokosuka, Japan, and Pensacola Florida, she worked at various physician groups across the years. Most
notably Brenda worked side by side with her husband in building a successful OB/GYN practice over the
course of 20 years in Pensacola.
Her natural gift was always serving people which was evident throughout her life. Brenda volunteered
for anything and everything that came across her path. From serving as the Officers Wives Club
president in Yokosuka to a team mom in youth baseball, she was always involved in the community and
Chip and Samantha’s activities. She never missed a baseball game from little league to college games at
the University of Georgia. She was well respected and loved by everyone she touched from the office to
the field, from peers to her children’s friends.
What was truly unique about Brenda is she could do anything, absolutely anything. She would do home
projects at the woodworking facility on Corey Station in Pensacola, she would sharpen the blades on a
lawn mower with a hand file and change her own oil. While these seem like common tasks, she moved
on to rebuilding a 1967 Mercedes 250SE and a 1972 MG Midget in her home garage using only an auto
repair manual from PepBoys and conversations with the guys at Crazy Brothers Exxon in Pensacola.
Brenda could go from the garage to the kitchen table and design a flower centerpiece from scratch,
throw batting practice or play a concert piano piece in the living room. The breadth of her knowledge
and abilities where unparalleled.
A funeral will be held at the Barrancas National Cemetery at Naval Air Station Pensacola on June 29 th at
11:30am. The family will meet attendees between 10:30-11:00 at Olive Baptist Church at 103 W
Winthrop Ave to form a caravan into NAS Pensacola. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set to
support the needs of veterans pursuing their studies in the fields of Applied Sciences. You may give to

Mrs. Jill Marie Ward, age 51, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at her Pensacola, FL residence.
Mrs. ward was born in Alameda, California and had been a resident of the Pensacola area for most of her life. She loved helping people, cooking, and riding motorcycles with her husband including charity rides.
She is survived by her husband, Gregory Scott Ward of Pensacola, FL; son, Jared Scott Ward of Cantonment, FL; three daughters, Ruthie Ann Emerald Smith of Pensacola, FL, Darla Desiree Irene Smith of Pensacola, FL, and Jennifer Marie Brown of Milton, FL; one brother, Rick “Megatron” of California; a sister, Desiree of Alameda, CA.
Funeral services will be held at Flomaton Funeral Home on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Joe Wesson officiating. Interment will follow at Lyeffion Baptist Church Cemetery in Evergreen, AL.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. at Flomaton Funeral Home.
Betty Faye Upton Lowery

Betty Faye Upton Lowery, of Flomaton, AL, passed from this life to her heavenly home on June 18, 2022. She was born November 22, 1935 in Ft. Payne, AL to Raymond and Shirrell Upton. She was married to Clarence Russell Lowery and together they made a happy home for 72 years. She and Russell took delight in encouraging family and friends in need with their relaxed and positive attitude over the years. Betty’s kitchen always had the coffee brewing and something good cooking to welcome anyone who came to visit. She was an extremely generous person, always thinking of what she could do to help others. Betty loved her family, especially her grandchildren! She was a born again Christian, was a member of Flomaton First Baptist Church, and a former long-time member of Carmel Baptist Church in Monticello, MS.
Betty was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Shirrell Upton; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charlie and Mary Lowery; her son, Rutt Lowery; her daughter, Deana Lowery Sanders; her grandsons, David Sanders and Jacob Powell; her sisters-in-law, Audrey Upton, Anita Upton, Annie Mae (Red) Lowery Henderson, Mazie (Joseph) Lowery Massey, Dot (Edgar) Lowery Croley, and Modell Lowery; her brothers-in-law, Clifton (Kathryn) Lowery, J. W. Lowery, Clinton (Retha) Lowery, and Charlie (Voncille) Lowery.
Betty leaves behind her daughters, Lynn (Tony) Lowery Powell, Barbara Lowery, and Leah Lowery; her son-in-law, David Sanders; her brothers, Jerome (Sylvia) Upton, Thomas Upton, and Leo Upton; her grandchildren, Nathan (Brandi) Sanders, Wesley (Andrea) Lowery, Kim Lowery Smith, Ben Powell, and Chelsea (Mark) Powell Norberte; great-grandchildren, Breanna, Sara, Cory, Tucker, Peyton, Annabelle, and Jonah; great-great-grandchildren, Rylan, Rohen, and J.R.; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Judy Moye Boutwell

Mrs. Judy Moye Boutwell, age 73 of Upper Creek Road in Flomaton, passed away Tuesday morning June 14, 2022 in a Pensacola, Florida Hospital.
Mrs. Boutwell was a native of Atmore and long time resident of the Flomaton area. She had previously worked as a seamstress for Judy Bond Fashions and Vanity Fair Mills. Mrs. Boutwell also worked at Century Health and Rehab as well as the Terrace Senior Living as a cook. She attended Lambeth Holiness Church.
She is survived by her husband of 54 1/2 years, Wendell Mike Boutwell of Flomaton; two sons, Michael Boutwell of Flomaton, Douglas (Sue) Boutwell of Richton, Mississippi; daughter, Valerie (Shon) Haveard of Flomaton; brother, Randy Crutchfield of Pensacola; sister, Anita (Earl) Bradley of Flomaton; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her father and mother, Cleveland Moye and Bertha Knowles Crutchfield; step-father, Jack Crutchfield; special great-nephew, Logan Mitchell.
Visitation will be held Saturday June 18, 2022 from 1 until 3 P.M. service time at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel.
