Helen Luverne Hughes

Mrs. Helen Luverne Hughes, age 76, passed away, on Friday, August 19, 2022 in Atmore, AL; surrounded by her family at her bedside. She resided most of her life, in Bratt, FL; before moving to Atmore, AL.

She valued her time she has got to spend with her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, working, playing softball and other sports. She loved “Alabama Football.”

She is preceded in death by her parents, John O’Bannon McCall and Cynthia Murl Comalander McCall, husband, Joseph Hughes, one daughter, Angela Gordon, one grandson, Allen Gordon, and one brother, Bobby McCall.

She is survived by her one son, James Jimmy (Paige) Henderson, of Savannah, GA; one daughter, LeAnne (Karla) Grissom, of Atlanta, GA; one brother, John (Maxine) McCall, of Bratt, FL; four sisters, Pauline (Horace) Pickern, of Bratt, FL; Annie Ruth Bryan, of Atmore, AL; Nancy Smith, of Atmore, AL; Debbie Cribbs, of Pensacola, FL; ten grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

Charles Deane Freisinger

August 21, 2022

Charles Deane Freisinger, age 86, of Molino, Florida passed away on August 19, 2022.

He was born to Peter and Anna Freisinger on July 6, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. He attended JM Tate High School and graduated in 1954. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958 where he was a fireman stationed in Greenland.

He was an outdoorsman who prided himself on having a beautiful yard and loved feeding his fish. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Anna Freisinger and brother, Richard Freisinger.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ollie Mae Freisinger; children, Lauren Freisinger, Mike (Phyllis) Freisinger and Anna (Greg) White; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and several bonus great-grandchildren; special niece Carol Ann Swinford; brother-in-laws Robert (Pat) Kennedy, and Dink (Cindy) Kennedy; sister-in-laws Betty Faye (Edward) Wooten, Alice Kennedy and Charlotte Seamon, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. Pallbearers will be Glenn King, Shane Gibson, John Middleton, John Chance, Justin Patterson and Robert Kennedy.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 6-8 pm at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 23, 2022 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Reverend Dale Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Baptist Cemetery, Molino, Florida. A meal will be served at the church after burial.

Eugene Garove

August 21, 2022

Eugene Garove, Colonel USAF (Ret)  was born in 1929 in Washington, PA, to Francis P. and Mary (Marenchin) Garove and passed away from this earthly life into our heavenly Father’s arms on August 18, 2022.

He served two years in the Navy beginning in 1947 attaining the rank of Petty Officer First Class followed by two years in the Naval Academy as a Cadet ending in 1951. After leaving the Navy in 1951, he attended Ohio University for 2 years. Gene started flight training with the US Air Force in 1953. He finished his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at Oklahoma State University in 1961. His academic work concluded with a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma University in 1968.

He served in the US Air Force as a pilot from 1954 through 1980 where he flew F-89D andC-130A and E aircraft, as well as serving as a Base Civil Engineer at three different Air Force bases. He also completed two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded many medals, commendations, and awards during his career.

After retirement he worked in the Geology Department at the University of Oklahoma for several years, as well as teaching private flying lessons and aviation basics both in Oklahoma and Florida. For over 20 years, he was usher at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pensacola, FL.

His love of flying was second only to his love for his wife to whom he was married for 62 years. Together they traveled the world, and even in retirement they spent many days driving across the country enjoying the journey.
Gene is survived by his wife, Nadine (DeRousse); two daughters, Deborah Nolan and husband Marshall of Clifton, VA and Janin Kroenung and husband Dennis of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren, Allison Craiger and husband Jacob, Christopher and Victoria Nolan, and Lauren Kroenung; and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Craiger.

Preceded in death by his parents and many brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 12:30-1:30pm at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. The service will follow at 1:30pm. Interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Stella Doria Terrell

August 21, 2022

Stella Doria Terrell resident of Cantonment, Florida passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the age of 60.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Duffie Thomas and Abigail Yazzie Thomas; step-father, Donald Peterson; sisters, Diana and Donna Thomas; daughter, Ly’Shauna Terrell; and granddaughter, Ja’Miyah Brown.

Stella is survived by her husband, Gregory Demetrius Terrell; sister, Gail (Larry) Imler; daughters, Ly’Nethia (James) Brown, Ly’Kesha Terrell (Fonte) Benson, Ly’Sheena Capehart, and Ly’Tasha (Jeffery) Stanton; son-in-law, Brandon Capehart; ten grandchildren, Isaiah, Paris, Jaylen, Jordin, Jayla, Jaiden, Jalia, Kingston, Josiah, Elijah; five nephews; one niece; and one sister-in-law.

Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Clexton Middleton officiating. Burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, Florida.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.

Pallbearers will be Brian Dixon, James Brown, Jr., Fonte Benson, Jeffery Stanton, Isaiah Salter, and Brandon Capenhart.

Andrea Etheridge

Mrs. Andrea Etheridge, age 56, passed away, Thursday, August 18, 2022 in Perdido, AL. She resided most of her life in Atmore, AL; before moving to Perdido, AL. She was an account for the utilities board with many years of service.

Mrs. Etheridge loved spending time with her husband and playing with her grandchildren. She enjoyed music, singing, and playing the piano in church. She enjoyed her phone, especially to get on “Facebook” to see what was going on with friends and family. She enjoyed going dog hunting and “Alabama Football.”

She is preceded in death by her mother, Opal Wiggins Greenwood, one son, Matthew Baisden, one brother, Donnie Gates, and one sister, Debbie Gates.

She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Billy Etheridge, of Perdido, AL; one son, William “Sebren” (Shea) Etheridge, of Flomaton, AL; two daughters, Britton Baisden, of Century, FL; Opal Suzanne Etheridge, of Poarch, AL; one brother, Keith (Grettel) Wiggins, of South FL; one sister, Elesha Pecevich, of Canoe, AL; three grandchildren, Britton Grace Respress, Jovi Saige Etheridge, Joseph Alton Sheffield, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Rev. Earl Harrison officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Laura Edith Ruby Weaver Molchanoff

Laura Edith Ruby Weaver Molchanoff left this world on Friday, August 12, 2022. She was married 67 years ago to her late husband, Robert Michael Molchanoff and together they raised seven children.

Laura and Robert lived in Miami, Florida before moving to the Keys and later to Molino, Florida, where she has lived the last 45 years. Laura’s passions were her family, making and collecting bears, singing, and playing the flute for her church, Highland Baptist. She is preceded in death by her sons, Michael and Dade. She is survived by her children: Debbie (Brad) Sutton, Martha (Larry) Hanna, Timothy (Barbie) Molchanoff, Joseph (Kendra) Molchanoff, Matthew (Felicia) Molchanoff, her grandchildren: Michael, Megan, Laura, Bob, JT, Cassie, Coral, Josiah, Hunter, and Catherine, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Laura always had a smile and a kind word for and about everyone. She loved the Lord and was confident of where she was going. Her greatest prayer was to see all of her loved ones in Heaven.

She will be celebrated and laid to rest on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:00 am at Highland Baptist Church, 6420 County Hwy 95A, Molino, FL with a visitation at 10:00 am. Faith Chapel Funeral Home North is in charge of the arrangements.

Analyssa Nevaeah Gabrielle “Bum Bunk” Britton

Ms. Analyssa Nevaeah Gabrielle “Bum Bunk” Britton, age 16, passed away, Saturday, August 13, 2022 in Robertsdale, AL. She was born in Pensacola; and resided most of her life in Flomaton, AL.

Ms. Britton loved shopping, swimming, music, and snapchat. She enjoyed playing basketball and volleyball. All of her years growing up, she liked to be center of attention. She was always a very vibrant girl, and never forget her “phone” being her life line of her life.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Melissa Godwin, one brother, Journey Lee Asher Britton, grandfather and grandmother, Walter Britton, and Barbara Ann Andrews, grandfather, Joe Godwin, and great grandmother, Nancy Wright.

She is survived by her father, John (Amy) Britton, of Flomaton, AL; son, Kaide, grandmother, Tracy Godwin, of Pensacola, FL; four brothers, Jeremy Love Lady, of Maplesville, AL; John Allen Britton, Jr; of Flomaton, AL; Colton Cardwell, of Brewton, AL; Emerson Britton, of Flomaton, AL; four sisters, Catilynn (Joseph) Stewart, of Pensacola, FL; Abigail Britton, of Flomaton, AL; Madison Madden, of Brewton, AL; Breanna Britton, of Flomaton, AL; fiancé, Noah Hellinger, good friend, Natalie Hellinger, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC with Rev. Rusty Burnham officiating.

Anthony “Todd” Sanspree

Mr. Anthony “Todd” Sanspree, age 56, passed away, Sunday, August 14, 2022 in Bay Minette, AL. He was a lifelong resident of Atmore, AL.

Mr. Sanspree enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed tending to his cows, fishing, hunting and drag racing. He enjoyed “Auburn Football” and the Kentucky Derby Horse Racing.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harrison Sanspree, grandmother, Luverta “Roberta” Glass, grandparents, Hosea and Annlee Sanspree.

He is survived by his mother, Jean Sanspree, of Atmore, AL; two sons, Cole (Paige) Sanspree, of Bay Minette, AL; Nick Sanspree, of Atmore, AL; two daughters, Breanna Sanspree, of Atmore, AL; Anna Claire Sanspree, of Atmore, AL; one brother, Sandy Sanspree, of Atmore, AL; one sister, Anna (Ben) Tingle, of Perdido, AL; three nieces, Savannah Tingle, Santanna Tingle, Jessica Sanspree, six nephews, Brannon (Danielle) Sanspree, Tyler (Kaylee) Sanspree, Tanner Sanspree, Ben Tingle, Brayer Tingle, Caden Sanspree, numerous aunts, cousins, best friend, Michael Roley, other relatives, and friends.

Christopher “Chris” Lee Thompson

Christopher “Chris” Lee Thompson, age 49, of Pensacola died August 8, 2022.

He lived in Escambia County his whole life. Chris worked as a truck driver for Gulf States Enterprises.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Hope Ellingson and father, Kenneth E. Thompson. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Timothy Thompson, Jared Thompson, Courtney Briceno Thompson (Ivan Briceno), Eliana Thompson and 6 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Wednesday, August 17 th from 1-2 pm with funeral service to follow at 2pm.

David Allen Flowers

Mr. David Allen Flowers, age 59, passed away, Thursday, August 4, 2022 in Mobile, AL. He was born April 16, 1963 in Atmore, AL; and resided in Nokomis, FL most of his life.

Mr. Flowers enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing and drag racing. He was a people person, and never met a stranger.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley (Rutheda Guise) Flowers, and one sister, Linda Ann Drasko.

He is survived by his one son, Jeffery Allen Flowers, of Loxley, AL; three brothers, Danny (Linda) Flowers, of Bratt, FL; Ernest Lee Flowers, of Arkansas, Timothy Randy Flowers (Denise) Flowers, of Silverhill, AL; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Rev. Cary Cubitt officiating.

Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery.
