Mack David Harrelson

Mr. Mack David Harrelson, age 69, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018, at his resident in Canoe, Alabama.

Mr. Harrelson was a native of Brooks, Alabama and had resided in Canoe, AL most of his life. He was of the Holiness faith.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Francis L. Harrelson of Canoe, AL; two daughters, Rhonda (Jimmy) Boutwell of Canoe, AL and Hannah (Stephen) Johnson of Atmore, AL; one brother, James Harrelson of Atmore, AL; one sister, Ella McCarter of Georgiana, AL; eight grandchildren, Laura (Jerome) Quinn, Bake Flowers, Benjamin Boutwell, Cheyenne Johnson, Landon Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Paidin Dantzler and Jacklyn Harrelson; one great-grandchild, Daniel Quinn and special niece and nephew, Wendell and Roxanne Harrelson.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Malcolm Harrelson officiating.

Burial was at the Traveler’s Rest Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dustin Lindsey, Christopher Boatwright, Mikey Harrelson, Jeffrey Hightower, Justin Hightower and Shawn Boutwell.

Louis B. Long

August 13, 2018

Mr. Louis B. “Andy” Long, age 61, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018, at his residence in Canoe, Alabama.

Mr. Long was a native of Atmore, AL and had resided in Canoe, AL for most of his life. He was employed with Southern Towing with 18 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of the Corinth Primitive Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Neal Long.

He is survived by his mother, Ann Long of Canoe, AL; two sons, Thomas (Ashley) Long of Walnut Hill, FL and Richard Long of Perdido, AL; two brothers, Scott Long of Canoe, AL and Jerry (Christine) Long of Atmore, AL; one sister, JoAnn Long of Century, FL and four grandchildren, Triston, Cameron, Alyssa and Aleigh.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Freeland officiating.

Burial will follow at the Canoe Freewill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike House, Greg House, Chris House, Triston Long, Cameron Long and William Cottingham.

Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Gates.

Daniel Jefferson Perkins

August 9, 2018

Daniel Jefferson Perkins of Cantonment passed away on August 6, 2018, at his home off Becks Lake Road. Daniel loved his family and was happiest when he was spending time with them in the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, boater, and a novice chef who loved spicy food. He also enjoyed spending time at the gym and listening to contemporary Christian music. From the time he was a child Daniel loved dogs and frequently had at least one.

Daniel is survived by his son Brandon Nathaniel Perkins; stepdaughter Kiera Kimbler; father Jefferson Perkins; mother Bobbie Jo Rowe; sisters Janice Gilley (Ron) and Cynthia Perkins; as well as a niece, two nephews, numerous cousins, extended family, and beloved friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 9, at 4 p.m.  with memorial service at 5 p.m., both at First Baptist Church Cantonment, 118 Morris Avenue, Cantonment.

Mark Anthony Singleton

Mark Anthony Singleton, 55 of Walnut Hill, FL. passed away August 5, 2018. He was born July 22, 1963 in Pensacola, FL. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Groce and Vera Singleton and Jim and Josephine Flowers. He worked for Champion/International Paper Company.

He is survived by his parents Gene (Betty) Singleton of Atmore, AL. and Joyce (Jimmy) Mason of Walnut Hill, FL. Two sons Brian Singleton of Milton, FL. and Bradley Singleton of Bellevue, NE. Two brothers Autry Singleton of Mobile, AL. and Darryl (LaDawn) Singleton of Pensacola, FL. Two sisters Janet (Tim) McCraney of Headland, AL. and Janine (Charlie) Walker of Molino, FL. Two grandchildren Chole Singleton and Teagan Singleton.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11:30 AM from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with his cousin Elosie Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Walnut Hill, FL.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 6 PM until 8 PM from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Betty Marie Lewis Hinkle

August 7, 2018

Betty Marie Lewis Hinkle, 71, of Cantonment, Florida, went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2018, at the Covenant Care Hospice Unit of West Florida Hospital, after a 3 year battle with cancer.

Born to Charlie Clayton Lewis and Myrtle Lee (Scott) Lewis, on March 2, 1947, in Santa Rosa County , Florida. Betty married Ray Hinkle in 1965 and spent the next 47 years living in Maryland.

Preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and her daughter, Jennifer Lynn.  Betty will be remembered as generous and selfless, regularly giving her time and energy volunteering for various charitable organizations.

She is survived by her daughter, Diana C. Tate, and two grandsons, Dalton and Dakota Tate, her sister, Pat Cox, and numerous friends and family.  She will be sorely missed.

Betty is most recently a member of Pine Forest Estates Baptist Church and a longtime member of Faith Community Church in Gambrills, Maryland.  Betty was saved at a young age and served her Savior well over the last 60 or so years.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at 4:00 PM, at the Faith Chapel Funeral Home, Cantonment, FL.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Ann Elizabeth Hodges Brantley

Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Hodges Brantley, age 79, of Flomaton, AL,  passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her home after an lengthy illness.

Mrs. Brantley was a native of Baldwin County, and a member of the Flomaton community for 52 years coming from Bay Minette, AL.  During her working years, she worked for Chemstrand Nylon Mill as a draw twist operator.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and was a member of the Century Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Brantley of Flomaton, AL; daughter, Mandy (Chad) Payne of Flomaton, AL; brothers, Neal (Barbara) Hodges of Bay Minette, AL, and Glen (Cindy) Hodges of Lucedale, MS; sister, Doris (Woody) Morrison of Mobile, AL.; grandchildren, Trae White and Tycen White, both of Flomaton, AL.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Century Church of Christ beginning at 10 A.M. until a 11 A.M. service time with Minister Jesse Claunch officiating.

Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Flomaton, AL.

Pallbearers will be Mark Autrey, Lewie Joe Smith, Robert Carden, Brandon Godwin, Don Belveal, Jerry Scott.

Joseph Thomas Moseley

Joseph Thomas Moseley, age 86, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the William F. Green Veterans Home in Bay Minette, AL. He was born in Lottie, AL to the late Arant and Janie King Moseley. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bay Minette, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laurie Bryars Moseley and son Steve Moseley.

Mr. Moseley is survived by his brothers, James (Buddy) Moseley and wife Shirley of Lottie, AL and Billy Ray Moseley of Bay Minette, AL. Granddaughters, Blaire (Chris) Singleton of Atmore, AL; Gina (Jonathan) Wetzel of Crestview, FL; Miranda (Tony) Moody of Byrneville, FL and Grandson Denver Moseley of Atmore, AL; Great Grandchildren, Jaxon Singleton, Cole Singleton, Talerie (Kyle) McGhee, Chesnea Wetzel, Brody Wetzel, Hunter Moseley, Hudson Moody, MaryStephen Moody, Asher Moseley and Dylan Estes and three sister-in-laws, Sammie (Lonnie)Turberville of Atmore, AL, Mary (Charles) Fickling of Perdido, AL and Betty Vinson of Atmore, AL. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Reece officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Walter “Danny” Cardwell

Walter “Danny” Cardwell passed away on August 4, 2018.  He was a Vietnam veteran and a retiree from Solutia.  He was a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Anton D. and Mattie Cardwell, and brother, Anton “Buddy” Cardwell.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Cardwell; his sons, Christopher (Teresa) Cardwell, Kevin (Melanie) Cardwell and Brandon Cardwell; grandson, Jonathan Cardwell; granddaughters, Lindsey Cardwell Sanks and Brittany Cardwell Cummings; and seven great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cottage Hill Baptist Church.

A graveside service with be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Cottage Hill Baptist Church Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.

Donald Ray Helton

Mr. Donald Ray Helton, age 79, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 in Pensacola, Florida.

Mr. Helton was a native of Huxford, AL, former resident of the Atmore area and has resided in Cantonment, FL since 1965. He was a Elder in the Remnant Church of Latter-Day Saints, a 1962 graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelors Degree in Finance, a 7th grade Science Teacher at Ransom Middle School. His passions were Alabama Football and Fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Patsy Helton of Cantonment, FL; a son Michael and husband Eric O’Briant of Kennesaw, GA; one brother, Gary Helton (Companion Lola Alverson) of Atmore, AL; one sister, Glenda & Alan Rundall of Lillian, AL; niece, Sheron Rundall of Lillian, AL and aunt, Ruth Vickery of Atmore, AL.

Funeral services will be Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Evangelist Les Kelly and Evangelist Dick Dour officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 12 Noon until service time at 2:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Mable W. Eicher

August 2, 2018

Mable W. Eicher, 82 of Atmore, AL, passed away July 30, 2018, in Bay Minette, AL. She was born in Bratt, FL, to the late Walter and Lillie Mae Faircloth West on December 7, 1935. She worked at B.C. Moore’s in Atmore for many years and later retired. She was a member of New Home United Pentecostal Church. Her parents, one infant son, and her son Michael Gohagan precede her in death.

She is survived by her son, Anthony (Rita) Hall of Poarch, AL; daughter, Belinda Kay (Joe) Wooten of Bratt, FL; and one sister, Walter Mae Paul of Bay Minette, AL; special nephew, Eddie “Peanut” Priest; five grandchildren, Chad, Brad, Shane, Dustin and Breanna; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 3, 2018, at 10 a.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Breceda and Bro. Rowdy Boyte officiating.

Burial will follow in Bratt-Godwin Cemetery.
