Curtis E. Crook

Curtis E. Crook, age 66, of Atmore, AL passed away on December 16, 2023 in Mobile, AL.
He was born on March 29, 1957 in Atmore, AL to Willard L. and Doris Johnson Crook.
He was a founding member and Elder of River of Life Church in Atmore, AL which he
cherished. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a Marine Embassy Guard. He
retired from the Alabama Department of Corrections after serving as a prison guard at
Fountain and Holman Correctional Facilities. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sharon Womack Crook; his daughter, Stephanie
(Doug) Baggett of Haughton, LA; his sons, Jeremy (Gloria) Crook of Bay Minette, AL,
John (Letty) Crook of CA and Don Spence of Walnut Hill, FL; his brother, Eric (Renee)
McNeil of Pine Grove, AL; his sisters, Kim Brown of Atmore, AL and Tracey Caraway of
Atmore, AL; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor
Richard Daniels officiating at River of Life Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Benevolence Fund in Memory of Curtis
Crook at River of Life Church, 4743 Highway 21 North, Atmore, AL 36502.

Cynthia Ann Tennant Smith

Cynthia Ann Tennant Smith, age 70, of Pensacola, FL, passed away unexpectantly on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Cindy was born in Pensacola on July 6, 1953, to the late Billy Glen and Evelyn Givhan Tennant. She graduated from Escambia High School and went on to work with the State of Florida across many avenues, retiring from the Office of State Attorney. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and Grammi. She will be missed dearly by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Cindy enjoyed adventure, she loved to travel, and spend time with her family and friends. Cindy always welcomed a walk on the beach and going out with loved ones to try new restaurants. She enjoyed the art of photography and was a hobby novelist. Cindy also created her own business “Santa Stamped” to bring her great love of Christmas to others. She believed in the importance of the Shriner’s Hospital and was always an advocate for their cause, to help save children in need.

Those left to cherish her memory include, her devoted husband, Dan Smith; her son, Brian Hosmer (Beth); granddaughters, Logan and Kalli Hosmer; brother, Glen Tennant (Debbie); sister, Susan Smith; seven nieces and one nephew; many great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 2:00 PM at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel on Thursday, December 21, 2023, with Rev. Jim Duck, officiating. Committal service will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Burt Snyder, James Darr, David Ricketson, Jeff Ellsworth, Lanny Smith and Marty Shorey. Glen Tennant will serve as Honorary pallbearer.

Nancy Mae Martin

Mrs. Nancy Mae Martin, 73, of Atmore, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2023. She was a native of Flomaton, Alabama and resident of Atmore for most of her life.

She enjoyed fishing, sitting with the elderly, raising kids and yard youngins. Always enjoyed riding and sightseeing, traveling to various destinations. Flowers was something she greatly enjoyed seeing. Spending time with family and friends was the utmost importance to her. Her favorite pastime was watching soap operas and the hallmark channel.

Mrs. Martin is preceded in death by her parents Dan Elijah and Georgia Mae Peacock Lambeth; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years Terry Martin of Atmore, Alabama; son Wayne (Rhonda) Martin of Atmore, Alabama; 2 daughters, Terri Martin of Atmore, Alabama, and Regina Martin of Atmore, Alabama; yard youngin Amanda (Brent) Godwin of Atmore, Alabama; 3 brothers, Claude Lambeth of Satsuma, Alabama, Joe (Mary) Lambeth of Brewton, Alabama, George (Debra) Lambeth of Little Rock, Alabama; 1 sister, Frances McMillian of Little Rock, Alabama; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, December 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC with Reverend J P Lambeth officiating.

Burial will follow at Travelers Rest Cemetery.

Harrison Dewayne Glass

Harrison Dewayne Glass, age 55, of Brewton, AL passed away on December 19, 2023 in Mobile, AL. He was born on January 4, 1968 in Atmore, AL to Leslie O. and Luverta Lewis Glass. He was a machine operator with Georgia Pacific for over 28 years before retiring in 2021. He cherished his family and enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and helping his brother with the sawmill. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty Glass Loop.

He is survived by his wife, Elicia Brooke Grice Glass; his daughter, Elizabeth Glass (Cameron) McCall of Brewton, AL; his granddaughter, Berkleigh McCall; his siblings: Brenda (Wayne) Bell, Diane (Ronnie) Byrd, Rusty (Janet) Glass, David (Anita) Glass, Susanne Glass, Roberta Strickland, Barbara Ann Dickson and Jean Sanspree along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tony Richburg officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Barnett Crossroads, AL.

Sarah Louise Odom

God welcomed another Angel home. Sarah Louise Odom passed away December 10, 2023.

She was born on December 16, 1942, to Joe and Catherine Sharitt in Pensacola. She grew up on Deleno Street.

She was motherly to everyone of her family and friends. She worked at the old university and went to Baptist Hospital in housekeeping. She lived in her home in Cantonment, FL.

After her husband passed away she resided at Bayside Health Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Paulette Worley, husband Randall Odom, sister in law Deborah Odom. Sarah is survived by her sister Earlene (Doyle) Burnham, Kathy (David) Rogers, Betty (Tom) Robbins Jr., nieces Donna Burnham, Linda Collinsworth, nephews Kevin (Lisa) Odom, and Steven (Maryjym) Worley and numerous more family and friends. The graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11am at New Hope Cemetery, 3575 Wimbledon Drive, Pensacola, FL.

William “Ralph” Parker

Mr. William “Ralph” Parker, age 87, passed away, Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in Bratt, FL; with his loving family at his bedside. He was born, May 3, 1936 in Bratt, FL; and later in life moved to Evergreen, AL; for 33 years, before moving back to Bratt, FL; the past 26 years. He worked at a saw mill for many years before retiring.

Mr. Parker enjoyed spending time with his family and watching the grandchildren. He enjoyed working outdoors specially cutting grass and working in the yard. He liked tinkering in his barn and going to his granddaughters’ skating events. He really enjoyed sitting down to watch wrestling and a good western.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Lazarus (Lottie Mae Conway) Parker.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carloyn Parker, of Bratt, FL; two sons, Wendell Ralph (Katy) Parker, of Tallahassee, FL; David (Kristin) Parker, of Tallahassee, FL; seven grandchildren, Hayley Parker, Mason Parker, Matt Parker, Kylee Parker, Luke Lambert, Chase Lambert, Lila Parker, other relatives, and friends.

Graveside and burial services will be held Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Godwin Cemetery with Rev. Henry Johnson officiating.

Rose Marie Baldwin

Mrs. Rose Marie Baldwin, 85, of Flomaton, Alabama passed away peacefully on December 19, 2023 at her residence. She was a native of Robertsdale, Alabama, resident of Molino, Florida and Flomaton Alabama. She was a member of Molino First Assembly of God Church at Pugh Chapel.

She enjoyed sewing, coloring and loved cooking for everyone that she could, most importantly reading her Bible. Spending time with family and friends was something she greatly enjoyed doing too.

Preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Jones; son, Ronnie Boatwright; parents Irvin and Frances Cantrell Mitchell; a brother Gene Mitchell; sister Phyllis Joiner.

She is survived by; 3 sons, James Jones of Flomaton, Alabama, Ricky (Traci) Boatwright of Walnut Hill, Florida, and Doug Poston of Molino, Florida; 2 daughters, Susie Miller of Molino, Florida, and Patsy (Roger) Hart; brother Curtis (Marelle) Mitchell of Pensacola, Florida; grandchildren Christopher, Christina, Johnathon, Janie, Oliver, Genie and Amber; 9 great-grandchildren with 1 more on the way.

Funeral service will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC with Pastor Donald Leavins officiating.

Marcia Lynn Oden

Marcia Lynn Oden, age 59, of Flomaton, AL, passed away on December 16th, 2023. Born on September 14th, 1964, in Raceland, LA, Marcia’s life was a beacon of warmth and love. Her home was a sanctuary, her arms a refuge, and her heart embodied the verse she lived by: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Lewis Perry Oden, and parents, James Preston Tipton and Frances Geraldine Walston, Marcia’s nurturing spirit lives on through her siblings: Carrie & E.J. Lefort, David & Christina Tanner, James & Dorthy Tipton, Joey & Rani Norman, Kevin Combs, Lonnie Tanner, Patricia Coker, and Sherrie & Chris Pitre.

A devoted mother to Jolene & Mo Sayed, Robert & Lindsey Oden, Jerod & Tabitha Oden, and Justin Oden, and a grandmother to ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Marcia’s joyous influence and wisdom will forever resonate in their lives.

Despite facing over six battles with cancer and the loss of the love of her life, Marcia’s faith never wavered. Her life was a testament to the strength and peace found in her steadfast belief, as captured in the photograph accompanying this obituary. Here, she is seen as we will always remember her: joyful, radiant, and truly blessed.

Marcia’s wake will be held at Petty’s Funeral Home in Atmore, AL, on December 22nd, from 6-8 PM CST. Her funeral service will commence at 11 AM CST on December 23rd at the same location, followed by interment at Flomaton Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerod Oden, Robert Oden, Justin Oden, Ayden Bell, Moe Sayed, and james Tipton.

We mourn the loss of Marcia but take heart in the knowledge that her legacy is not in tangible achievements, but in the indelible mark of love, she left on every life she touched. We will carry her memory with us, finding strength and solace in the values she imparted.

In Loving Memory of Farida Reyes Udasco, age 84 of Cantonment, Florida.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, a loving mother, and a cherished grandmother, sister, and friend, Farida Reyes Udasco. She departed this world on Saturday, December 16th, 2023. Farida leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and enduring grace. Born to Conrado and Loretta Reyes on December 7, 1939 in Cagayan, Phillippines, Farida lived a life marked by compassion, kindness, and devotion to her family. Her demure spirit touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
Farida’s journey on this earth was beautifully intertwined with a remarkable 59-year marriage to her devoted husband, Hetty Navarro Udasco. Their union was a testament to enduring love, unwavering commitment, and shared joys. They loved traveling, cruising, and gardening together over the years.

Farida graduated from Baguio General Hospital Nursing School in 1964. Her career was committed to caring for others. She was a registered nurse in New York, Charleston, Norfolk, and Pensacola. She retired from Sacred Heart Hospital in 2001. May her memory continue to inspire a legacy of kindness and selfless service.

Farida enjoyed simple pleasures like gardening, sewing, and baking. She loved tending to her garden, creating thoughtful gifts through sewing, and baking delicious treats for her grandkids. These hobbies were expressions of her caring and creative spirit, leaving a lasting legacy of warmth and love.

As we mourn the loss of Farida, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she led and the impact she had on all who were fortunate to know and love her. May her spirit of love, kindness, and resilience be a source of inspiration for us all. Rest in peace, your love will live on in our hearts and your memory will forever be a blessing to us.

She is survived by her husband, Hetty, and her daughters Catherine, JoAnn, and Yvonne. She is also survived by seven grandchildren that she loved so much: Crystal, Ashley, Morgan, Kiana, Macy, Rocco, and Maddox. Farida also leaves behind four siblings and their families in the Philippines: Henriquetta, Gregorio, Norberto, and Independencia.

Pallbearers will be Peter Kelly, Kiana Kohut, Macy Kelly, Rocco Kelly, Maddox Kohut, and Jimmy Serrano.

Kameron Allen Smith

Kameron Allen Smith, “Kam”, was born on January 10, 2003 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. He left this world on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the young age of 20.

If you knew Kam, you loved him. He always kept everyone laughing and his beautiful smile would light up any room. He had just recently received a job promotion at work and was working on his truck. Everything he worked hard for was paying off and he was excited about life, and his plans and goals.

He had gone through and overcome so much. Kam enjoyed the simple things in life. He liked antique trucks, drawing, spending time with his friends, his girlfriend, Rose, and his brothers, Tristan and Sawyer. He and his brothers had a special bond. He loved all of his fur babies, and held a special place in his heart for his rescue dog, Scout. Kam loved life and lived it to the fullest. A country dirt road and beautiful sunsets is where he always found peace. We hope he is enjoying sunsets more beautiful than we can imagine.

Kam was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Alton Horne, Eugene Smith, and Robert Lee McDonald; and his great-grandmother, May Eulla McDonald.

He is survived by his parents; Kimberly Jean Smith, step-father, Timothy Maier, and his father, Clint Allen Smith; brothers, Tristan Allen Smith and Sawyer Isaac Maier; his girlfriend of two years, Rose Hutchinson; grandparents, Debbie and Mark Trotter; Lee McDonald, Arlene Joyner, Rick Smith; great-grandmothers, Carol Horne and Gladys Hobbs; and great aunts, Karen Rose and Charlotte Skipper.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. The family will receive friends for visitation at 11:00 a.m. Services will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Mike Pickett officiating. .

Pallbearers include Clint Smith, Tristan Smith, Kaden McDonald, Harley Sechrist, Gaven Goneke, and Jayden Hall. Honorary pallbearers include Kristopher McDonald, Lee McDonald, and Rick Smith.
