Alexander Dumas Lett, Sr.

Mr. Alexander Dumas Lett, Sr., was born in Monroeville, Alabama, on December 14, 1935 to the late Brownie Lett and Harold Tucker. Alexander Dumas Lett, Sr. departed this life on November 5, 2019, at the great age of 83.

At an early age the family relocated to Century, Florida. Alexander (Gulf Coast) Lett attended George Washington Carver High School where he was a proud graduate of the 1955 class. Alexander was a faithful employee of Monsanto for 36 years where he later retired. Mr. Lett was well known in the Century community where he owned several businesses.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Brownie Lett; father, Harold Tucker; sister, Nona Bell Scott-Williams, Mattie Flavors, Marie Goldsmith; brothers, Bernell Lett, Aubrey “Jackie Boy” Roberts and John Lett; and grandson, Duane A. Lett.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his beloved wife, Sandra Bass Lett of Century; daughters, Kassandra A. Lett of Century, Patricia Lett of Brooklyn, NY; sons, Alexander Lett, Jr. of Century, Douglass Lett, Vincent Lett, Gerald Lett, all of Brooklyn, NY; brothers, Willie (Sarah) Lett of Moss Point, Mississippi, Reverend Leonard (Jean) Lett of Toledo, Ohio; goddaughter, Kelsi Wright; godson, Antwan Wright and a hose of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who will greatly miss him.

A wake service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019, at Jackson-McMurray Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Pilgrim Lodge Baptist Church in Century.

Frankie Gerald Carnley

November 4, 2019

Mr. Frankie Gerald Carnley, age 65, of Flomaton, AL, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019, at a Pensacola, FL health care facility.

Mr. Carnley was a native of Century, FL, and a life-time member of the Flomaton community where he worked for Bud’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed spending time with family and with his granddaughter riding his golf cart, being outside hunting and fishing, playing with his dogs, Aubie and Bocephus, and watching Auburn football and basketball. He always watched the races on Sunday with his family and had a Dr. Pepper in his hand eating peanut butter crackers. Mr. Carnley was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his parents, L. J. and Helen Floyd Carnley; son Frankie ‘Trucker’ Carnley, Jr.; brother, Jackie F. Carnley, and sister Gloria C. Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Lambeth Carnley of Flomaton, AL; son, Dustin (Kasey) Carnley of Flomaton, AL; brother, Rickey (Marie) Carnley of McDavid, FL; sisters, Jo Ann Carnley of Flomaton, AL, Joyce Carnley of Century, FL, Joan (Earl) DeWise of Flomaton, AL; granddaughter, Jordyn Harper Carnley; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tim Floyd officiating.

Interment will be in Boutwell Lambeth Cemetery in Flomaton, AL.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Emmons, Jason Carnley, Jackie Carnley, Kevin Carnley, Corey Johnson, and Chris Thomas.

Alberta Hall Campbell

November 4, 2019

Mrs. Alberta Hall Campbell, age 84, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019, in Pensacola, Florida.

Mrs. Campbell was a lifelong resident of Bratt, FL. She retired with the City of Century with 28 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a loving friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Campbell.; parents, Houston and Vivian Roberts; step-father, Pringle May; three brothers, Ray Roberts, Charles May, and J.C. May; two sisters, Betty Calahan and Luverne Firth.

She is survived by her two sons, Wildon (Elaine) Hall Jr. of Grand Bay, AL; David Hall of Dawsonville, GA; daughter, Donna (Eric) McCall of Bratt, FL; sister, Ruby (J.A.) Wells of Mobile, AL; one grandchild Erin (Jeremi) Pritchett and two great-grandchildren, Jase and Tucker Pritchett.

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 3, 2019, at the Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. James Sage officiating.

Burial was at the Godwin Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John McCall, Mike McCall, Jimmy McElhaney, Jerry McElhaney, Glenn Faircloth, and Darrell Holly.

Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Boone, David Johnson, and Willie Peebles.

Addie Mae Morris Lowery

Mrs. Addie Mae Morris Lowery, age 78 of Jay, FL passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL.

Mae was born on May 29, 1941, in Jay, FL to Emory and Irene Morris. She graduated from Jay High School in 1959. Mae was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Carlos ‘Buddy’ Morris; and her sister, Margie Spears.

Mr. Lowery is survived by her loving husband of 59-1/2 years, Melvin Wayne Lowery of Jay, FL; special fur baby ‘Missy’; son, Rickey (Amanda) Lowery; daughter, Sandy (Tommy) Cox; grandchildren, Dusty Lowery, Brandi Cox, Kristen (Kyle) Becker, April Carr; three great-grandchildren, Bentley Lowery, Chayce Becker, Kaylen Becker; sister-in-law, Marie Morris; brother-in-law, Louie Orell Spears; special niece second daughter, Nelda (Mike) Rogers; nephew, Greg Spears, and numerous cousins and special friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 10 a.m.  until a 12 p.m. service time with Bro. Bobby Carnley officiating.

Interment will be in Cora Cemetery in Jay, FL.

Millard Houston Lambeth

Mr. Millard Houston Lambeth, age 86, of Brewton, AL passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.

Mr. Lambeth was a native of and lifelong member of the Brewton and Flomaton communities where he worked as an equipment operator in the construction industry. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and was a member of Allen Smith Holiness Church. Mr. Lambeth was preceded in death by his parents, James Ernest and Iver Lee Lambeth; wife Betty Lambeth; son, Kenny Lambeth; grandson, Cody Nolan, and brothers, Crumpton, Burnace, Preston, Marvin, Bill and Bob.

He is survived by his son, Ricky (Jodie) Lambeth of Flomaton, AL; daughters, Darlene Lee and Charlotte Renee Smith, both of Flomaton, AL; brother, James (Nell) Lambeth of Brewton, AL; sisters, Cody Wedgeworth and Teresa Smith, both of Flomaton, AL; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Wingate, Clara Lambeth, Jean Lambeth; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren,

Funeral services will be held for Mr. Lambeth on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel at 2:30 p.m. with Bro. Donnis Bowman and Bro. Chuck Scrivener officiating.

Franklin Lamon Reaves, Sr.

October 31, 2019

Mr. Franklin Lamon Reaves, Sr., age 83, passed away Monday, October 28, 2019, in a Pensacola hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Reaves was born in Castleberry, AL and had been a resident of Flomaton, AL for the past 51 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a retired Research Technician at Monsanto. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Reaves attended Friendship Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jackie Cordelia Reaves of Flomaton; a son, Franklin Reaves of Foley, AL; a daughter, Kasey (Mark) Watson of Pensacola, FL; one brother, Jacky (Carol) Reaves of Loxley, AL; a sister, Ann (George) Godwin of Tuscaloosa, AL; and three grandchildren, Colby Reaves, Kyle Reaves, and Jackson Watson.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, October 30, 2019, from the Chapel of Craver’s Home with Pastor Rusty Burnham officiating.

Edro D. Hall

October 31, 2019

Mrs. Edro D. Hall, 85 of Nokomis, AL, passed away October 29, 2019, in Atmore, AL. She was born on October 23, 1934, in Mineola, AL to the late Perlie Edward and Leona Jeter Daniel. She drove a school bus before working at First National Bank of Atmore as a Bank Teller where she retired with over 22 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Nokomis Baptist Church where she served as the church pianist and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Mrs. Hall was known for her desserts and her famous chicken pot pie.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Ray Hall; one sister, Geraldine Williams; and one brother, Joe Edward Daniel.

She is survived by her son, Terry Ray Hall and daughter Martha Hall, both of Nokomis, AL; two sisters, Fredna Stewart of Spanish Fort, AL and Jackie Presley of Nokomis, AL; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and many family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 1, 2019, at 11 AM from the Nokomis Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Hill officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Brian Stewart, Damon Stewart, Roger Keith Stewart, Mark Presley, Ricky Fore, Frank Hyman Williams, Chris Wallace, and Darrell Miller.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 1, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. from the Nokomis Baptist Church.

Andrew Ross Davis

October 29, 2019

Andrew Ross Davis, of Wewahitchka, ran into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019.

Born Feb. 7, 2008, Ross was a warrior, fighting both Chiari Malformation and MPS III known as Sanfilippo Syndrome. While his time here was short, his mark on the lives and hearts of many will remain forever.

Ross is survived by his parents, Andrew and Jessica Davis, of Wewahitchka, and his younger sister, Meredith Kate, who is also a Sanfilippo Warrior; grandparents Rev. Nick and Janet Davis, of White City, and John and Sandra Slay, of Molino; special friends Jakwavian Gray, Brianna Shackelford and Charlene Dickens; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church in Wewahitchka. Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. The family welcomes those children who dearly loved Ross.

Ross taught us how to live life to its fullest, how to bravely accept adversity with grace, how to find joy in life, and how to unselfishly love others. Ross could melt your heart with a smile and tell a story with his beautiful blue eyes. It is often said that one loses his or her battle with a disease, yet Ross did not lose. While our hearts are broken, we know that Ross is now in the “Lord’s Army – Yes Sir.”

Horace Sims

Mr. Horace “Pee Wee” Sims, age 85, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019, at his home in Atmore, Alabama.

Mr. Sims was a native of Evergreen, AL and had resided in Atmore, AL since 1985. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of the Atmore Country Club. He attended the Little River Holiness Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sims; father, Ed Sims; mother, Willie Mae Faulk; step-son, Bobby Lassitter; three brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his two sons, Terry Sims of Atmore, AL and Thomas Sims of Atmore, AL; two daughters, Debbie (Steve) Albritton of Atmore, AL and Pamela (Mike) Godwin of Atmore, AL; two brothers, David (Annette) Faulk of Lapine, AL and Thomas “Jr.” (Melanie) Sims of Red Level, AL; one sister, Jewell Faulk of Waynesboro, MS; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 27, 2019, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. D.L. Harville officiating.

Burial will follow at the Poplar Springs Cemetery.

Autry Lee Tucker

October 27, 2019

Mr. Autry Lee Tucker, age 86, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at his home in Atmore, Alabama.

Mr. Tucker was a native of Monroe County, AL and had resided in Atmore, AL for most of his life. Bro. Tucker was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, the Atmore Apostolic Church, and a former groundskeeper with the tribe until his health forced him to retire. He played the drums at the Atmore Apostolic Church, was one of the hardest working men you will ever know and loved giving candy kisses to everyone he came in contact with. He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Ara and Taft Sagers.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lillie Bell Tucker of Atmore, AL; one son, Jereme Waylon (Thresa) Tucker of Atmore, AL; one daughter, Wanda Joyce (John) Byrne of Atmore, AL; eight grandchildren, Hope, Jereme, Paisley, Heather, Megan, Daphne, Tyler and Andrew; three great-grandchildren, Arianna, Mikey and Aubrey; one brother-in-law, Jerry (Thelma) Williamson of Uriah, AL; two sister-in-laws, Mary McGhee of Atmore, AL and Faye Thomas of Atmore, AL and special nephew, Robert Harold Rolin.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 25, 2019, at the Atmore Apostolic Church with Rev. Tim James officiating.

Burial was at the New Home Cemetery.
