Robin Carnley
November 30, 2019
Robin Carnley, 67, passed away on the morning of November 23, 2019. Her loving husband Cecil Wayne Carnley and family members by her side. Robin was born April 2, 1952, in Worcester, Massachusetts to William Pransky and Evelyn Berglund.
Robin found joy in many things; studying the bible, sewing, and cooking for her family. She enjoyed being a loving mother, wife, grandmother and a great-grandmother. Robin met her husband while both of them resided in Okeechobee, Florida. Robin and Cecil officially married May 15, 2015. Robin was introduced to Cecil by a family member. It was love at first sight for Robin and Cecil. Both never leaving each other’s side from that day forward.
Four years ago, Robin and Cecil moved to Pensacola to be closer to family members. Within months both would experience a sudden head on collision that seriously injured them. It took several months and hard work for them to recover. Robin would tell you today they both survived by the grace of God, their deep love for each other, and the love that was poured out by family members and friends.
Throughout her life she was known as kind, thoughtful, and selfless. She had brought joy to all those who came to know her. Although she has departed from this life, she continues to live on in the hearts of those who hold her dearest. She will forever be missed and never be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband Cecil Wayne Carnley of 13 years. Her children Robert Pransky and Michael Carnley, Marissa Green, Debbie Hedgepeth, Christine Carnley, Kayla Stone (Jason Stone). Her three sisters Merilee Berglund, Judith Tiffany, and Donna Clough. Two brothers Billy Pransky and Rick Berglund. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robin would also want us to mention two gentlemen names she called her honorary son’s, Johnny Ray Heathcock and Kenneth Jones.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday December 2. 2019 at East Side Assembly of God Church at 2990 East Kingsfield Road.
Mary Frances Smith

Mary Frances Smith, 77, of Atmore, AL, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019, at her residence. She drove truck and worked at Buster’s Restuarant for many years. She also owned Ramblin Rose. She was born in Georgianna, AL on November 25, 1941, to the late Arthur and Inez Johnson Stokes.
She is preceded by her parents; two daughters, Kathy Harrison, and Angela Stoll; and brother, Mack Stokes.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Aubrey Smith of Atmore; one son, Aubrey “Sonny Man” (Faye) Smith of Turnerville, AL; five daughters, Janet Hayes of St. Stephens, AL, Judith (Rusty) Zeller of Picaynne, MS, Jackie (Larry) Kiper of Saraland, AL, Jeannie (Wayne) Crabbtree of Semmes, AL, and Kimberly Turner of Mt. Vernon, AL; step-daughters, Vicky (Don) Williams of McCullough, AL, Lisa (Ricky) Ward of Excel, AL, and Michelle (Claude) Turberville of Saraland, AL; one brother, Lester (Naomi) Stokes of Crenshaw County, AL; 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, November 22, 2019, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Glenn Barnhill officiating.
Graveside services were held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Saraland, AL.
Active pallbearers were Tommy Primm, Timothy Primm, Jason Vickery, Michael Thomas, Bo Ward, and Jesse Ward.

William Cook
November 30, 2019
William “Eddie” Edward Cook of Davisville, FL. passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 in Pensacola, FL. He was born in Chumukla, FL. on March 26, 1937 to the late Roy W. and Edith Marie Carnley Cook. He served in the United States Army. He was a retired Senior Mechanic with Exxon Mobil and had work for the City of Atmore with the Beautification Department. He was a member of the Walnut Hill & Century Masonic Lodge. He also was a 32nd degree mason and Past Grand Patron of the Order of The Eastern Star of Florida which was an elected position. He began playing fiddle when he was 8 years old and became a well-known musician during his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Leon Cook and Clarence Ray Cook.
He is survived by his wife Laura Green Cook of Davisville, FL. Two sons Chadwick W. (Tonya Black) Cook of Nokomis, FL. and Brady E. (Kay) Cook of Daphne, AL. One brother Winston Cook of Pace, FL; two sisters Voncile Grant of Pace, FL. and Marie (Otis) Joiner of Milton, FL. 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Brooks Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in McCullough Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Chris Burkland, Randon Watson, Cordair Cook, Travis Ashcraft, John Wesley Cook and Scottie Cook.

Charles Raymond Chavers
November 29, 2019
Mr. Charles Raymond Chavers of Molino, FL passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa, FL at the age of 64.
Charles first worked at the CSX railroad for a few years, before furthering his education. He graduated from Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton, AL, with an associates degree in nursing. Upon receiving his degree, he started his life long career as a nurse by becoming a home health nurse. From there he began working at Jay Hospital and then becoming a senior registered nurse at Century Correctional Institute, where he retired of in spring 2016.
Everyone who knew Charles, knew he was a very patient and strong man of God. His home church was Victory Assembly of God in Cantonment. Charles was always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors, and family was everything to him. He was an avid Alabama fan, even if he would sometimes say “I am just for the winning team”.
Charles enjoyed spending time at home with his loving wife of 37-years, playing guitar and fishing with his son, an also attending Blue Wahoo’s games and visiting Krispy Kreme with his daughter. He loved to volunteer his time with the local Northview and Ernest Ward FFA chapters. Charles found joy in cutting grass around his home, and working on his 2007 blue Ford F-150 which he loved to always show off and always wanted to look “neat”.
He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Chavers; brother, Terry Chavers, nephew, Jason Griffin; niece, Jill Griffin; cousin, Vivian Pate; mother-in-law, Rose Griffin and his father-in-law, Ralph Griffin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Ann Chavers of Molino; children, Charles Lee and Tabitha Faye Chavers of Molino; mother, Alice Chavers of Brewton, AL; brother, David Chavers of Brewton, AL; nephews, Andrew Chavers, Garrett Griffin, Travis Sterback; nieces, Ashley and Amanda Chavers, Tiffany, Paige and Emily Griffin, Megan Washington, Sheena St. Pierre, Sherry Charbonneau and Jenna House; brothers-in-law/sisters-in-law, Jerry and Cheryl Griffin of Dayton, TX, Ronald and Annette Griffin of Seminole, AL and Ralph Jr. and Debby of Cantonment, FL; along with countless friends, cousins and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
Jim “JB” Burl Day

Mr. Jim “JB” Burl Day, age 86, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 in Pensacola, Florida.
Mr. Day was a native of Huxford, AL, former resident of Century, FL and had resided in Brewton, AL for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Century Masonic Lodge #213, Jay Order of Eastern Star Chapter 208, the Springhill Primtive Baptist Church and retired from Champion Paper Mill with 40 years of service. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Joann Johnson Day; one brother, J.D. Day and parents, Robert and Mary Day.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Day of Brewton, AL; one son, William Anthony Day of Century, FL; two step-sons, David Edward (Yvonne) Beasley of Danville, KY and Michael Ashley (Wemberlee) Beasley of Greenville, AL; one daughter, Lisa Day (Alvin) Ahn of Pensacola, FL; one sister, Lottie Nell (Rex) Crews of Cantonment, FL; four grandchildren, Jake E. Livingston of Century, FL, Samantha Smith of Pensacola, FL, Valerie Day Massey of Pensacola, FL and Julie Day Pearson of Pensacola, FL and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 29, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Mitch Herring and Bro. Dawson Stanaland officiating.
Burial will follow at the Springhill Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Byron Daniel Stewart, age 7, of Highway 4, Century, Florida passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019, in Evergreen, Alabama after injuries sustained in a automobile accident. He was a native of Pensacola, Florida and a lifelong resident of Century, Florida. Daniel was in the first grade at Byrneville Elementary School and enjoyed having fun. He loved his family and his family loved him.
He is survived by his mother, April (Troy) Graham of Century, Florida; father, Heath (Rachel) Stewart of Brewton, Alabama; brother, Maxwell Stewart of Brewton, Alabama; step-sisters, Hadley Beasley and Lily Beasley of Brewton, Alabama; grandparents, Derek and Teresa Brantley of Flomaton, Alabama; Danny and Joy Findley of Century, Florida; Ricky and Andie McNew of Brewton, Alabama; Larry and Tracy Stewart of Brewton, Alabama; aunts, Tawana Brantley, Yancey and Shaina Langston; uncle, A.J. Clyde R. McCauley
November 24, 2019
Clyde R. McCauley, age 90, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019. He was born July 27, 1929, in McDavid, FL and lived nearly his entire life in Pensacola. A Korean War vet he was proud of his army duty. He retired from NAS Pensacola 35 years ago. He remained active with fishing and golf until fairly recently. He coached Little League Baseball for many years which resulted in dozens, if not hundreds, of young boys becoming outstanding young men. As one of few living “Brownsville Boys” Clyde developed relationships that lasted decades. His quiet leadership and more importantly his walk with Christ, his Lord and Savior, has left a legacy to friends and family that will live forever.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean McCauley of Pensacola; daughters, Jane Bonelli (John) of Pensacola, Joan Miller (Joe) of Cairo, GA and Suzanne Vickrey (Kevin) of Molino; sons, William McCauley (Teri) of Franklin, TN and Randy McCauley (Stephanie) of Molino, FL. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grands & four great-great-grands.
In everything Clyde did, whether it was working, coaching, fishing, or golf he did so to the best of his ability and with joy and a smile. Known by many names: “Slick, Rock, Popsie & Papa” were among a few. He cared for his family, extended family and friends with unmeasurable love which was returned to him by all. He was a hero in the truest sense of the world.
Services were held Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.
Interment was at Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery.

James Charles Watkins

In loving memory of my little soldier, James Charles Watkins. He was born on September 18, 1982, he was the youngest of three boys born to Mary Watkins. He had two brothers, Marcus Rhys Watkins and Benjamin Dean Callaway. Jamie graduated from Woodham High School 2001. He was in ROTC, Chorus, Drama and played soccer. He was a boy scout with his cousin, Eddie Belcher. He received many badges. After high school, Jamie joined the Army and served in Operation Enduring Freedom. He was so proud, he wanted to honor his grandpa, John Charles Fowler who served in WWII. Jamie played guitar and enjoyed fishing and being with his brother Rhys. He was always his mother’s baby, Jamie. He fought diabetes until his heart could not go anymore. He went home to be with God on November 15, 2019 to rest with his grandparents, Bonnia and John Fowler; uncle, Charles Fowler and his cousin, Chris Jackson.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Watkins; brothers, Rhys Watkins and Benjamin Callaway, nephew, Alex Watkins, nieces, Annabelle Kramer and Abigail Callaway; aunts, Jackie Rich and Sherri Belcher; uncle, Edmund Belcher; cousin, Eddie Belcher; great uncle, Joe Fowler and many more cousins and wonderful friends.
Rest in peace my beautiful son, you will be missed forever.

Papa Ding Dong Diddley Daddy Debateably Darin’ Diggin’ -out- dashin’ dip diggin’ Don Schroeder has fought the good fight of faith and finished the race of enduring faith, and on November 15th, he entered into his eternal rest with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he devotedly served with great faithfulness. Gerald Don Schroeder, known affectionately to his family, friends, and the greater Pensacola Community as “Papa Don,” and to his grands as “Papou,” is survived by his wife, Mama Gail, daughter, Melanie Rose Saccomanno (Peter) son, Christopher Scott Schroeder (Jamie) and daugher-in-law Lisa Schroeder Knight (Dave); his grandchildren, Christopher (Nicole) Schroeder, Lauren Saccomanno Roberts (Sam), Lindsey Rose and Leah Maree Saccomanno, Kyle (Maya ) Blake, Derek, Zachary, and Vivian Rose Schroeder; great-grands, Harper Roberts, Kaiden Schroeder and a little brother ready to enter this world at any moment. Upon entering Heaven’s Gate, he was joyfully reunited with his sons, Michael and Jerry Schroeder, his mother, Marie Blackmon, and his sister, Brenda Frenkel.
Papa Don had a tenacious entrepreneurial spirit, and he was a character like few others, always providing an experience to any and all in his presence. He was a magnanimous and generous soul, striving to help others, and was a devoted marketplace minister. He began his career as a recording artist, and discovered “he had an ear for a hit.” He began producing artists like Twiggy, Webb Pierce, Mighty Sam, James and Bobby Purify, Pat Boone, and Dion Warwick. As a vocalist and writer, “Melanie” became quite popular in the Southeast, adding to the top 100 billboard lists the following: “I’m Your Puppet,” “Shake a Tail Feather,” and “Everlasting Love.” As a disc jockey in the 1960’s, he achieved some of the highest ratings in radio by craftily bridging the music gap, mixing rhythm and blues and pop music, which served to help tear down the seemingly insurmountable racial barriers of his era. In the 1970’s after experiencing a real encounter with the Holy Spirit, he returned home, purchased a radio station, and, along with his family, began spinning records, playing Contemporary Christian Music, a new genre for Pensacola, founding WPFA (With Power From Above). When the Gulf War broke out, he skillfully transitioned to CNN Headline News programming, becoming the first affiliate to rebroadcast CNN Headline News (WPNN).
During this time, he undertook a weekly, family TV show on BLAB. Again, his ratings soared. Missing the recording business that he loved so much, he once again ventured out and initiated several Christian recording projects, one of which was nominated for a Grammy Award.
“Papa Don” was his name, and promoting was indeed his game. He was the consummate promoter which led him into vast and numerous entrepreneurial ventures.
The last two decades, in the midst of persevering through life threatening cancer, multiple back surgeries, complications, and the loss of two sons, he robustly embraced life and ardently continued his marketplace ministry. He was ever quick to share his faith, and it was not uncommon for one to get an invite to church, followed by his gracious hospitality of lunch at his home afterwards.
“Papa Don” will be remembered for his unwavering principles, his generosity, his larger than life personality, his deep and abiding love for Jesus and his family, and his great compassion for souls.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Olive Baptist Church, Trinitas Christian School or a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be at Olive Baptist Church on Friday, November 22nd from 4 to 7 pm, and Saturday, November 23rd, from 11 am to 1 pm, followed by the Service at 1pm. Interment will take place at Bayview Cemetery, followed by a Feast and a Celebration at Olive Baptist Church.

Earlene Caraway Biggs

Mrs. Earlene Caraway Biggs, age 84, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019 in Century, Florida.
Mrs. Biggs was a native of Nokomis, AL and had resided in Atmore, AL for most of her life. Her first love was her family, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a great cook and equally important was her church family and serving her Lord at the Atmore First Baptist Church where she was actively involved. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron at McCoy Chapter #34 and the Escambia Squares, where she loved to square dance. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alto and Lillie Caraway and two brothers, Jesse Caraway and Eugene Caraway.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James G. “Jim” Biggs of Bratt, FL; three daughters, Linda (Jimmy) Francia of Mobile, AL, Sandra (Doug) Welch of Pineview, AL and Kathy (Ben) Seales of Birmingham, AL; eight grandchildren, Lindsey, Brittney, Dominick, Emily, Angela, Lillie, Andrew and Brooke and five great grandchildren, Tegan, Parrish, Rush, Lorelei and Mary Kathryn.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Atmore with Rev. Marcus Caraway and Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating.
Burial will follow at the Godwin Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Atmore.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Francia, Dominick Francia, Ben Seales, Brandon Lami, Doug Welch and Drew Welch.
