Mary Lee Gibbs

Mrs. , age 84, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 in Monroeville, Alabama.

Mrs. Gibbs was a native of Atmore, AL, former resident of Monroeville, AL and had resided in Gantt, AL for the past 5 years. She was a Teacher’s Associate with the Escambia County Florida School System from 1966 to 1999 and was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Andalusia, AL. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert Lee Gibbs; parents, Allen and Clara Lee; four brothers; one sister and grandson, Scott Gibbs.

She is survived by her three sons, Tony (Wanda) Gibbs of Walnut Hill, FL, Bob (Pam) Gibbs of Monroeville, AL and Sammy (Annette) Gibbs of Atmore, AL; one daughter, Cheryl Gibbs of Gantt, AL; four grandchildren, Amanda (Greg), Eric (Kirsten), Jessica (Ryan) and Caroline (Michael); eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Diane Everette officiating.

Burial will follow at the Canoe Freewill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews, Greg Babiak, Eric Gibbs, Ryan Lowell, Michael Sonen, Ed Johnson and Russ Johnson.

Michael Edward Eubanks

Michael Edward Eubanks, a husband, father and Papa Mike, passed away on March 8, 2020 at the age of 69.

Mike is survived by his wife of 30 years, Vickie Eubanks; his children, Lanie(David) Sells, Scott Eubanks, Lindsey (Greg) Dumas; his grandchildren, Shelby Sells, Cason Sells, Clay Dumas, Alexis Eubanks, Peyton Rolin, Abigail Eubanks, Tristan Lechner, Summer Vanhoosen; and great grandchild Paris Scott.

He is preceded in death by his son Josh Eubanks, twin brother Dan Eubanks, and parents Jeannine and George William Eubanks.

Mike was born in Atmore, AL on September 27, 1950. Mike enjoyed spending time with family, making memories and a hard days work. His genuine personality and colorful way with words made him unforgettable.

A celebration of life will be held at Annie Jones United Methodist Church, 5040 Arthur Brown Road, Walnut Hill, FL, on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at 2 p.m.P.M. Fellowship to follow at his home in Oak Grove.

George McClure Andress

Mr. George McClure Andress, age 80 of Jay, FL, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020, in Jay, FL.

Mr. Andress was born in Hybart, AL, and had been a resident of Santa Rosa County since 1978. He was retired from the United States Navy having served in Vietnam where he earned the Vietnam Service Medal (One Bronze Star), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Four Good Conduct Medals, and Letter of Commendation. He enjoyed gardening, was of the Baptist faith, and was preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Manzelle Metts Andress; his wife, Shirley Miller Andress; sister, Martha Irene Griffin, and two infant brothers.

He is survived by his sisters, Ethel (Richard) Thuotte of Crawfordville, FL and Dianne (James) Bohannon of Uriah, AL; special friend, Betty Killam of Poplar Dell Community; a number of nieces and nephews; stepsons, Norman Ott and Jerry Ott of Michigan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 11 a.m. until a noon service time with Rev. Mitch Herring officiating.

Interment will follow in Cora Cemetery in Jay , FL, will full military honors.

Pallbearers will be Mike Killam, Gary Killam, Richard Pierson, Heather Pierson, Frank Griffin, Ethan Nall, Kevin Bohannon, Trevor Harris, Austin Bohannon and Fred Brown.

A special thanks to Dr. Michael Smith, Jay Hospital nurses and staff, Andrews Center Physical Therapy at Jay, the Terrace administration and staff and to Vitas Hospice staff.

Cleveland Elwood Rhoades, Sr.

Cleveland Elwood Rhoades, Sr. went home to Heaven on March 8, 2020.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Rhoades; daughter, Connie (Brady) Killam; son, Cleve (Amy) Rhoades; daughter, Laura (William) Bass; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020, at Beulah Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.

Kelvin “Andy” King

Mr. Kelvin “Andy” King, age 46, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at his home in Atmore, Alabama.

Mr. King was a native of Brewton, AL and a life long resident of the Escambia County, AL area. He was a 1991 graduate of the Escambia County High School and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Sue Wardrop; sister, Stephanie King; brother, John Wardrop and grandparents, James P. and Lilly McRae.

He is survived by his father, Carlton Ray (Sally) King of Huntsville, AL; step-father, R. Glenn Wardrop of Atmore, AL; one brother, Caleb (Kristal) Wardrop of Brewton, AL and one sister, Amanda (Ryan) Creighton of Huntsville, AL.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Elder Wayne Ellis officiating.

Burial will follow at Serenity Garden Cemetery.

George McClure Andress

Mr. George McClure Andress, age 80 of Jay, FL passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 in Jay, FL.

Interment will follow in Cora Cemetery, Jay FL with Full Military Honors.

Inez Jinright

March 6, 2020

Inez Jinright, 84, of Cantonment, FL passed away Monday, February 24, 2020. She was born in Monticello, MS on August 17, 1935.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Hayward Jinright, and parents Marvin and Lizzie Lee Farmer.

She is survived by her four children, Gregory (Debbie), Jeffrey, Steve (Danielle) and Teresa (Roger); grandchildren, Haleigh Sullivan, Jacob Jinright, Machaela Russell, Emily Williams and Miranda Sevcik; great-grandchildren, Cayden Jinright, Ryleigh Williams, Bailey Williams, Jace Williams, Kennedy Sevcik, Jackson Sevcik, and Mckinley Sevcik; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Inez was a devoted Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. Her early married years were spent making a home for Hayward and their children. Together they made sure Gregory, Jeffery, Steve, and Teresa had a foundation of faith and made church a priority. They wanted their children to be happy, healthy, and loved.

After Hayward’s death, Inez continued being actively involved in her children’s lives. As much as she loved being a mother, becoming a grandmother was one of her biggest joys in life. When she wasn’t busy spoiling her grandchildren, you could find her somewhere enjoying a cup of good coffee and conversation with friends or family.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, February 29, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Cantonment with Dr. Will Stone, Rev. Larry Huff, and Rev. Micah Gandy officiating.

Interment was at Bayview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Roger Commander, Tyler Jackson, Kenny Phillips, Curtis Wiggins, Lamar Wiggins, and Phillip White.

Dr. John Willard Neff

Dr. John Willard Neff, 90 of Atmore, AL, passed away February 18, 2020, at his residence. He was born on June 8, 1929, in State College, PA to the late Joseph and Viola Hoy Neff. He was a Clinical Psychologist had an undergraduate at Penn
State University, Master’s degree at Florida State University and a PhD at Ohio State University.

He is preceded in death by his four brothers, Joseph L. Neff, George Harris Neff, James Irvin Neff, William Russell Neff and one sister, Anna Viola Neff.

He is survived by his two sons, Eric (Linda) Neff and David (Christy) Neff; six grandchildren, Angie, Kory, Kristi, Natalie, Danielle, Lisa (Matt) and five great-grandchildren Annabelle, Peyton, Isabel, Angelena, Khloe.

A private memorial service was held at his home.

Christina (Chrissy) Marie Atkins, 37 of Atmore, AL, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020, in Atmore. She was a homemaker. She was born in Monroe, Washington on March 11, 1982, to Dennis John Fecteau and Brenda Taylor.

She is preceded in death by her father, Dennis John Fecteau.

She is survived by her parents Brenda (Timothy) Brock of Atmore, AL; two daughters, Keyonna Atkins and Kasiyah Atkins; two brothers, Dennis “D.J” Fecteau and Kristopher Fecteau; one sister, Cheyenne Brock and many family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church with Bro. Josh Long officiating.

Wonda Fay Raines Conant

Wonda Faye Raines Conant, age 68 of Jay, Florida former resident of Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed the outdoors and flowers. She retired from the casinos in Tunica, Mississippi as a supervisor.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Wanda Raines and former husband, Bob Conant.

She is survived by daughters, Tracy (Brian) James and Angela Conant, sister, Cheryl (Jeff) Woods; brother, James (Faye) Raines; grandchildren, Dustin, Crystal, Samantha, Amber Ly, Hanna, and Evan and great-grandchildren, Beckham and Jana.

Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Jay City Cemetery with Brother James Raines officiating.
