Linda Karen Adams Hall

Mrs. Linda Karen Adams Hall, age 64, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022, in Mobile, AL. She has lived most of her life in Atmore, AL. She was a proud member of Poarch Band of Creek Indians, Fretwell Tabernacle Church, and Hvsosv Tallhvssee in Poarch, AL.

She valued her time she got to spend with her family and taking care of grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing, sewing, going to the creek, and styling hair. She loved native traditions, and always helped the people in need.

Mrs. Hall is preceded in death by her father, Carl Ben Adams; one grandmother, Linnie Presley Hayes, and Bill Hayes; two brothers, Michael Wayne Adams, William Carl Adams, and one sister, Linda Gail Weaver.

She is survived by her mother, Margaret Milstid, of Atmore, AL; six sons, Christopher (Jennifer) Adams, of Meridianville, AL, Tommy (Kelly) Smith of Poarch, AL, Michael Smith of Flomaton, AL, Albert Countryman of Poarch, AL, Adam Countryman of Frisco City, AL, Jason Countryman of Frisco City, AL; two daughters, Jenni Hall, of Frisco City, AL and Jessica Hall, of Atmore, AL; one brother, David (Marissa) Adams, of Atmore, AL; three sisters, Brenda (John) Stephens, of Uriah, AL, Deborah Helton, of Atmore, AL, and Michelle (Judd) Mason, of Atmore, AL; 29 grandchildren, CJ, Selena, Cameron, Tristan, Taylor, Tayla, Makayla, Zachary, Thunder, Sadie, Thead, Sydney, Kyra, Hannah, Shawn, JT, Jaylen, Joshua, Jordan, Rhea, Jaselyn, Fonzi, Kara, Jayla, Kyleigh, Kayden, Jennylynn, Presley, Jahien; nine great-grandchildren; her companion, Travis Hall; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 7, 2022, at Friendly Holiness Church at 2 p.m. with Sis. Helen Stewart and Bro. Ray Ward officiating.

Burial will follow at Judson Creek Indian Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 6 p.m. until service time Friday, January 7, 2022, at Friendly Holiness Church.

Pallbearers will be Ron Marshall, Brad Adams, Kyle Adams, Joshua Milstid, John Stephens, and Anthony Peebles.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Kroll, Ronnie McGhee, Jimmy Smith, William Bailey, and Roger Scott.

Judy Gail Bonds Hillman

January 4, 2022

Mrs. Judy Gail Bonds Hillman, age 74, of Brewton, AL, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. She was born August 24, 1947, in Tuscaloosa, AL.

She valued the time she got to spend with her family. She loved working in her flower gardens, cooking and her pets.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt and Nell Bonds.

She is survived by her loving husband of eight and a half years, Charles Hillman, of Brewton, AL; one daughter, Victoria (Derrick) Stewart, of Flomaton, AL; three step-daughters, JoAnna Paroby, of Pensacola, FL; Chrissie Heilmann, of Denver, CO; Kate Hillman, of Pensacola, FL; two sisters, Susan (Roger) Adkinson, of Flomaton, AL; Cindy (John) Coleman, of Northport, AL; two grandchildren, Morgan (Zach) Ingram, Shannon (Andrew) Weaver; two great-grandchildren, Presley and Harper Ingram; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Flomaton with Rev. Jake Bondurant and Rev. Parker Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at Flomaton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Flomaton.

Pallbearers will be Derrick Stewart, Zach Ingram, Andrew Weaver, Jerry Burt, Stevie Pugh, and Colby Pugh.

Helen V. Rolin

January 4, 2022

Helen V. Rolin, age 72, of Atmore, AL passed away on December 28, 2021. She was born on February 25, 1949 in Venezuela to Fedor and Sofia Drapanczuk. She worked at Vanity Fair and later retired from Masland Carpets. She was a member of Poarch Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Don Wayne Rolin; her son, Eric (Stacey) Plant of Bratt, FL; her daughter, Natalie Rolin of Atmore, AL and her grandchildren, Tanner Plant, Madelyn Plant, Andrew Plant, Luke Plant and Elli Macyn Plant.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bubba Rolin officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, AL.

Freddie Mappin Miller

January 4, 2022

Freddie Mappin Miller, age 96, peacefully passed away in Atmore on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. She was born January 12, 1925, in Tampa FL. She moved to Atmore in 1983 with her husband, Gordon and son, Rusty.  She was an amazing, kind and selfless woman who loved everyone in her life and would gladly do anything she could for those needing it.  She loved volunteering with various community organizations, playing bridge with her friends and anything that involved being outside enjoying nature.  She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Atmore.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick J Mappin and Mary Mappin; her husbands, Richard Earl Strickland Sr. and Howard Gordon Miller Sr.; her daughters, Carol Anderson and Barbara Haw.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard Earl Strickland Jr. and his wife, Nita of Gulf Shores, AL and Howard Gordon (Rusty) Miller Jr. and his wife, Tracy of Atmore, AL; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held for her at Trinity Episcopal Church in Atmore for her close friends and family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that you make a donation in her memory to the church she loved, Trinity Episcopal Church, 203 S. Carney St., Atmore, AL 36502.

Luvenia F. Hayles

Luvenia F. “Sang” Hayles peacefully passed away at her home in Atmore on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. She was born on August 12, 1926, in Barnett Crossroads, AL and later moved to Atmore, AL. She retired from the Bank of Atmore/United Bank after 32 years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Stella Fillmore; her husband, Charles F. Hayles, Sr.; two sisters, Jane Davis and Luverne Morton; and four brothers, Bill Fillmore, Jessie Fillmore, Jerry Fillmore, and Robert Fillmore.

She is survived by her two children, Charles F. Hayles, Jr., and Gena Rudge; son-in-law, Keith Rudge, along with several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Charlotte “Dit” Grant.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 3, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kevin Garrett officiating.

Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, AL.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 3, 2022, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Andy Moye

January 2, 2022

Mr. Andy Moye, age 62 of Community Church Road in Flomaton, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, in Atmore from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mr. Moye was a native and lifelong resident of Flomaton and was employed in the lawn maintenance/landscaping industry. Mr. Moye was a volunteer fireman for Century Station #5. He was of the Holiness faith and attended the Ebenezer Assembly of God Church. He loved going to church and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Donna Theresa Moye of Flomaton; mother-in-law, Marcella (Nelson) Glenn of Century; daughter, Jennifer Pugh; three sisters, Pat (Larry) Johnson of Damascus, Brenda Peterson of Century, and Wanda (Everette) Brown of Brewton.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Andy Moye will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home with Brother Bobby Carnley officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Holiness Church Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Landon White, Ayden Smith, Roy Moseley, William Jeremy Markey, Kylie Reeves, and Jay Crowley.

Honorary pallbearer will be Everette Brown.

Francis Ford

January 2, 2022

Francis “Barney” Ford 75, went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2021. A long-time resident of Pensacola, he was originally from Athens, Pennsylvania. Barney joined the Navy after high school and rose to the rank of Chief Petty Officer after 25 years of service to his country. During those years, he received Jesus into his heart as Savior and Lord.

He was a member of McIIwain Presbyterian Church. He sang in the choir and helped serve breakfast every week to the Men’s Prayer Group. He also enjoyed playing softball, racquetball, working out at the YMCA, watching all kinds of sports especially PSC basketball. He will always be remembered as a faithful friend who was interested in others and ready to lead a helping hand. He will especially be remembered by many families who shared special meals with him through the years.

Barney is preceded in death by his parents, Roland Ford and Gertrude Hunter Ford and his brother Mo Ford.

A memorial service will be held at McIIwain Presbyterian Church, Pensacola January 4, 2022, with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m.

Graveside services will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at 1 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Showalter, John Showalter, Micah Showalter, Charlie Clarke, Tom Turner and Rob Pike.

Honorary Pallbearers, Don Railsback and Charlie Foster.

Frances C. Abrams Hershman

Frances C. Abrams Hershman, age 78, of Lillian, AL,  passed away on December 25, 2021. She was born on May 1, 1943, in Century, FL to Johnny W. Abrams, Sr. and Beulah “Bessie” Conway Abrams. She retired from the United States Government Civil Service after many dedicated years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Betty Ann Adams.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Hershman of Lillian, AL; her brother, Johnny W. (Kitty) Abrams of Wawbeek, AL and her sister, Mary Elizabeth Hale of Atmore, AL.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery in Wawbeek, AL with Bro. Robert Bradley officiating.

Interment was at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ruby Earline Jernigan

January 1, 2022

Mrs. Ruby Earline Jernigan of Atmore, AL, lost her battle with cancer at the age 64. Earline was born January 21, 1957, and passed away December 22, 2021, in her family’s care, in Calhoun, GA.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, James Levon (Buddy) Jernigan.

She is survived by her two sons, Jim (Charlotte) Jernigan, of Calhoun, GA, and Joseph Busby; one sister, Martha (Jack) Hall; one brother, Louis (Melissa) Screws; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerus nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC.

Burial was at Godwin Cemetery beside her husband.

Ellen Marie O’Barr

Mrs. Ellen Marie O’Barr, age 71, passed away, Tuesday, December 28, 2021, peacefully at her home in Poarch, AL. She was born in Atmore, AL, but has resided in Poarch, AL, most of her life. She was a member of St. Anna Episcopal Church and Poarch Band of Creek Indians. She retired in the Archives Department at Poarch Creek Indians with 30 plus years of employment.

Mrs. O’Barr valued her time she got to spend with her family. She loved watching sports, Alabama Football, NAYO, NASA, and going fishing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam (Inez McGhee) Daughtry; husband, Joe O’Barr Jr; one sister, Doris McGhee; three brothers, Frank Jackson, Bennie McGhee, and Houston Daughtry.

She is survived by her three sons, Charles “Bubba” (Sylina) O’Barr, of Lottie, AL; John (Stacie) O’Barr, of Poarch, AL; Andrew (Elizabeth) Daughtry, of Atmore, AL; three daughters, Christy (Ronnie) Huskey, of Daphne, AL; Shannon (Jason) Griffey, of Poarch, AL; Kimberly (Nick) Hill, of Poarch, AL; one brother, Charles (Danna) Daughtry, of Poarch, AL; two sisters, Emily “Emmie Jane” (AD) Owens, of Monroeville, AL; Essie Wilkins, of Pensacola, FL; 17 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, numerus nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Ward officiating.
