Flashback To Friday: Tate Showband Welcomes Ransom; Mini Cheerleaders Perform

Friday night was a big night for dozens of mini cheerleaders and Ransom Middle School band members during the Tate High School football game.
The mini cheerleaders, who took part in a recent camp, had a chance to perform with the Aggie cheerleaders.
And the Ransom Middle School band performed with the Tate Showband of the South.

Cloe Smith Named NHS Homecoming Queen

Cloe Smith was named Northview High School’s 2019 homecoming queen Friday night.

Northview Names Homecoming Court; Plans Parade And Friday Meal

Northview High School has named their 2019 homecoming court, and there are several big events planned for homecoming.
Homecoming court members are seniors Karlee Criswell, Corteria Leslie, Cloe Smith, Raeleigh Woodfin, Briana White; juniors Naudia Carach, Franki Daw, Libby Pugh; sophomores Nevaeh Brown, Payton Gilchrist, Mia Starns; and freshmen Presley Dortch, Leila Sanders and McKenna Simmons.
The parade will line up at 12:30 p.m. at Bratt Elementary School. The public should not enter the Bratt campus. The parade will depart at 1 p.m. and travel to Northview High.
A homecoming meal will available Friday from 10 a.m. until from the football concession stand to support the Tommy Weaver Scholarship Fund. The $7 meal will include a barbecue sandwich, chips, cookie and a drink.. Preorder by calling the school at (850) 761-6000 ext. 302137 or email aeubanks@escambia.k12.fl.us
The Northview Chief’s homecoming game will kickoff at 7 p.m. Friday against Walton.

Molino Park Holds Community Helpers Day (With Photo Gallery)

They are the folks that make the community go round. And they’ve got cool tools, and trucks, sirens and other gadgets and gizmos.
They are the community helpers that are hard at work, often behind the scenes, in the Molino area.
Molino Park Elementary School held their annual Community Helpers Day on Friday.
The event included personnel and equipment from Escambia County EMS, the K-9 unit from the Escambia County Road Prison, the Molino Station of Escambia Fire Rescue, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, J. Miller Construction Company, Florida Highway Patrol, Escambia Search and Rescue, the Florida Forest Service, FedEx, Rockhill Farms, Ace Towing, Gulf Power and more.
Students also dressed as their favorite community helpers, such as firefighters, police officers, teachers, nurses and others.

The Pumpkins Have Arrived At Cantonment Pumpkin Patch

It’s a sure sign of fall in Cantonment.
The pumpkins have arrived at the Allen Memorial United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch. Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes are available under the big tent on Highway 29 near Neal Road.
The Allen Memorial United Methodist Men have sponsored the Pumpkin Patch since 1995.

Local Students Gather For ‘See You At The Pole’ (With Photo Gallery)

Students gathered to pray at their schools across the area Wednesday morning during the annual See You at the Pole event.
Students gathered as school began to pray in the non-denominational event. See You at the Pole is a national student-initiated, student organized, and student-led event. Students prayed for their school, friends, teachers, government and the nation.
