Beulah Academy FFA Student Project Places 7th In Country

November 22, 2023

Aiden Hollingsworth and Luke Graham of the Beulah Academy of Science FFA Chapter, placed first for their Florida FFA Agriscience Fair project in animal systems category, “Does a Cleaner Chicken Coop Maximize Backyard Egg Production?”

This allowed eligibility to apply for the National FFA Agriscience Fair. Their application was accepted and they were selected to interview for the agriscience fair. Through the application and interview process, they were named a National Top 10 finalist. They traveled to the National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana, where it was announced that they placed seventh in the Nation.

Auburn University Raptor Center Visits Bratt Elementary School

Cantonment Rotary Presents Culinary Scholarships

November 7, 2023

In addition to the $40,000 of scholarships presented to Pensacola State College recipients earlier this year, Cantonment Rotary awarded two $500 Culinary Arts Scholarships to students in that program. These Annual Scholarships awards are presented at the Annual Cantonment Rotary Culinary Arts Luncheon held at the Molly McGuire venue at the PSC Campus. For this year’s luncheon students in the program, under the watchful eye of Culinary and Professional Service Careers Coordinator and Instructor, Head Chef Jimmie
Langham prepared and served the German-Themed culinary offering to the Cantonment Rotarians and their guests.

Receiving $500 scholarships were Ella Thompson and Rayshawn Stalling. Both are pursuing degrees in Culinary Management.

Thousands Participate In Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

Thousands of people took part in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in downtown Pensacola Saturday morning.

An estimated 10,000 people took part in the walk, many walking  to honor loved ones fighting breast cancer or those that have lost their lives.

At last count Saturday, the event had raised $216,000.

Escambia County Teachers Of The Year Announced

The nominees for Escambia County Teacher of the Year were announced Monday.

NorthEscambia.com will feature many of the North Escambia nominees in individual stories in the coming weeks.

One of them will named the Escambia County overall Teacher of the year in late January from a list of five finalists.

The Tate Aggies celebrated a Glo-Co homecoming Friday night with a 58-41 win over West Florida.

Lexi Nelson was crowned homecoming queen. First runner-up to the queen was Taylor Bree Fitzgerald, and second runner-up was Synoma Perea.
