Two Arrested After Three ‘One Pot’ Meth Labs Found In Bratt (With Photo Gallery)

[Exclusive] The discovery of a methamphetamine lab at a mobile home in Bratt led to the arrest of two people on multiple drug charges.
Working on an anonymous tip early Tuesday evening, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office developed information that a meth lab was located at the home in 4200 block of Rigby Road, just south of West Highway 4.
After obtaining a search warrant late Tuesday night, investigators with the county’s Narcotics Unit located three “one pot” methamphetamine labs in the residence, at least one of which was active. They also found a variety of drug paraphernalia and an active “gas generator”.

Mark Steven McGhee, age 44 of Rigby Road in Bratt, and 24-year old Charissa Leigh Clarke of North Highway 99 in Walnut Hill, were taken into custody at the scene. They were charged with possession of methamphetamine/trafficking, two counts of possession of an illicit chemical and manufacturing methamphetamine. They were booked into the Escambia County Jail with bond set at $40,500.
According to investigators, the mobile home’s electricity was disconnected and an extension cord to a neighboring home was being used for power. They said the home had no running water, and it appeared that a lawn chair with a large hole in the seat was being used as an improvised toilet behind the residence.
A hazardous materials team from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Rapid Response unit responded to the scene to neutralize the meth labs and associated chemicals about 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Deputy Gillman seems to have the lid on things around Bratt. He does not seem to miss much. It seems the Sheriff Department has just shown a steady curve of improvement under the current Administration.
i’m sure that the two involved have families. let’s not be so quick to judge, instead reach out to them and many more in our community to find other means of employment and other ways to escape instead of drugs and alcohol. when we get back to loving and caring for one another we can defeat this devil and win back our communities
Don’t throw that lawn chair away, I can use that camping on the river. Just leave it leaning on the utility pole by hwy 4, and I will pick it up when I drive by.

Collectively the boomers were a good bunch. They have worked all their
lives and are just now starting to retire.
The bottom line of all this is that people are turning to drugs for their happiness The baby boomers grew up dazed & confused and some of them raised their kids to do the same. But then again humans have always found a way to seek an alternate reality; since the beginning of time. Hopefully, this incident will scare some people straight because that meth is scary stuff (dangerous).

The trailer that had the meth lab sure looked like a nice place. I would love too live in the Bratt area, and don’t worry about me ever making any Meth. Moonshine maybe, but nothing like the poison cleaned up in the article……

excuse me but Bratt has NEVER had a bad name, why do you think there is nowhere to rent around bratt, it is very hard to find a place in walnut hill and Bratt because it is such a wonderfull community, not quite sure where you recieved your info from there think with your brain.
DAPHNE, whether he’s from atmore or not has nothing to do with it, as a matter of fact, most of the meth lab/drug busts are made in bratt and walnut hill…that was a dumb comment, bratt already had a bad name – years ago

Hard to feel sorry for folks locked up for self-destructive crimes. Glad the labs didn’t blow up and set something on fire or kill some of the unsuspecting neighbors. No children involved, I hope. They are often the innocent victims of meth production.
What is sad is that hes from Atmore and wasn’t brought up this way!!!He just moved to Bratt and now is givin it a bad name!!!
In thanking the ECSD and Sheriff Morgan somehow I forgot the main ingredient,. William and North Escambia. This is, so to speak in my back door and if not for this site I would have never known. Keep up the good work fellas,we all have a stake in this effort.

This is very very sad… I happen to know the young lady that was arrested (haven’t talked to her in about 12 years) but went to school together. she was NOT like this and was NOT raised in this type of atmosphere from when I knew her. This is just horrible and it breaks my heart how some people can go “downhill” like this in their lives… you wonder how it happens and why but they just get mixed up in the wrong crowds… this is a hard lesson to learn girl; I just hope you do and get yourself back together… thinking about the Clark family at this time; it is not easy to go through something like this…
It amazes me how people can be so dependent and weak that are using this or any kind of drug. What kind of enviroment were they raised in? Maybe good maybe bad you never know. But what I do know is drug and our youth are destroying our society very rapidly. I do not mean all youth but a small portion of them are. Worse yet we have older people setting the example by doing this kind of stuff as well. We have to get a control on this stuff for our youth of today is our tomorrow. Where oh where will we be if it’s not contained and or stopped now? Just saying people better be on the look out for this kind of activity and reporting it.
I am sure there are going to be people out there saying oh you just don’t know how bad they have had it and so on. Look there is no excuse for this junk so quit trying to justify a wrong every time something happens. It’s very clear cut there is a right and a wrong and most logical law abiding people understand the difference.

Easy to make but hard to kick the habit. Don’t EVER be tempted to use that stuff. I’ve been a drug abuse counselor and also watched a co-worker get hooked and later lose all her teeth from the addiction. It can also cause paranoia and resulting violent behavior. Meth IS a nasty drug. It kills.

When I say idiots I do not mean everybody, only the law breakers. These incidents are far from the norm for the Bratt community. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Vacant mobile homes seems to be a haven for this kind of garbage to be stashed. People too::::: Folks keep looking for these signs in your neighborhood and lets all make a concerted effort to rid our small community profile of the likes of these two. A special thanks to ECSD, also to Sheriff Morgan. Many years we have gone unnoticed in North Escambia. Morgan has given us a very active presence of his office and again I say thank you.
Hello Mom. No offense intended. It just seems that these incidents in the news, are so far from the norm for Bratt, and yes there are many good Southerners in Bratt and these characters are the rare exception, not the rule. Sorry for my insensitivity. I would be willing to bet these few problem childs are transplants, from outside.
Good Job to the police and good job to the person who tipped. It is every one’s
responsibility to see to it that their neighborhood is clean of drugs. I don’t
understand why this girl is crying. She had to know this would be the out come
of her addiction and crimes, certainly no big surprise there. When you
have to use a lawn chair to do your business in the back yard you should
realize how low you have gone. Ask for help it is out there.

I’m glad they caught the two. They were a blight on the community. As far as the “idiots in Bratt” statement, I grew up in Bratt, and my parents still live there. I know many hard-working families who reside in Bratt. Don’t paint everyone with the same brush. I’m sure if you to watch the evening news, you’ll discover a large number of idiots in Pensacola, Mobile, New York, Los Angeles, and anywhere else in the world. I can promise this: people like my parents are happy to get morons like this out of the community!

What is the difference on how the tax payer does it, We feed them on food stamps are feed them in jail.Bratt has been getting these type of people for the last three years moving in. What has to be changed is people on food stamps go into the store buy twenty to thirty dollors worth of junk food and then buy ten to thirty dollars worth of lottery tickets with the money they have. What a country.
I would say great job to ECSO also… Meth is a nasty nasty drug and needs to be stopped.
