I am completely in agreement with Aggie Momma – homecoming was not spoiled and it seemed like everyone did have fun.

I know you guys are tired of seeing my comments – but here it goes anyway – my son plays football on the varsity squad and is a senior. He has enjoyed playing for Coach Rigby over the last four years and those of you who are not involved with the football program or the quarterback club just don’t get it. It’s not all about the coaching – the boys are playing their hardest and the coaches are making do with the guys we have to work with. We have a lot of young players on varsity due to those coaches from other schools who have recruited athletes out of their district. The school board should be ashamed of this as well as the school administration for allowing it to happen. With that being said – I am proud of the guys for scoring Friday night and even though we did not win – they never gave up. We will keep our heads held high and continue to support our boys because that’s what we do as Aggie parents. I graduated in 89 from Tate and the football program wasn’t the greatest then either but we still kept that Aggie spirit and will continue to do so.

True Aggies stay and cheer for the boys because without them there would be no football and no reason for a band or cheerleaders for that matter. Everbody keeps talking about how the football team is so bad but to be perfectly honest – those boys never give up they play just as hard in the 1st quarter as they do in the 4th quarter no matter what the score is. The band needs to step it up a bit though – we seem to keep getting out-played by the other bands lately. Just my opinion.

Hang in there guys and never give up – I’m so proud of you guys for getting some points on the board and happy to see you haven’t lost your spirit or love of the game. True players and parents don’t. Enough said!!!!!!

@ aggie momma…i agree it was w nice homecoming, they always are!! but have you noticed that we have gone from a 60 something football team and now less than 40. It is pitiful!!

@ river sunshine…we have had awesome atheletics in the past..when your daughter goes there next year you will witness first hand the lack of school spirit. we have no student section. they arent allowed to show thier spirit..somebody there is keeping them from going all out

@ stinky spolied..it is what it is..just except it..the only people left at the games are parents of participants…great community & supporters of tate but by coming out, show thier support for coaches & admin…we are all ready for a change

    I say….SAVE TATE!!!

hey stinky, the headline didn’t say homecoming game, it said ‘homecoming’ and i stand by my statements, the football outcome was not to anyone’s liking, but the kids still had a fun time with the homecoming festivities, including football players, i dont think there would be a problem or disparity in the local football programs if most kids went to school in their own district, everyone shops today for schools, and although i believe tate’s programs are as good as anyone’s they don’t market themselves as well as some others, misconceptions abound.

Not spoiled? Seriously? They were spanked on the football field 63-13. So homecoming was not spoiled for the Tate Aggies? Nope, I’m guessing it was just the most perfect night ever for the boys on the field. It will be the best homecoming memory ever losing 63-13.

Seems to me you are trying to say the homecoming *Activities* were not spoiled. This is article about a football game, and it was stinky spoiled.

Well said, Aggie Momma! I graduated Tate in 1990 and my daughter will go there next year. Our football team has never been the best, but the school spirit there is awesome.

Homecoming was not spoiled. Our struggling football team lost the football game. We cheered their small successes when they occured, but we are not fair weather fans. We had a great parade with over a dozen floats, beautiful courts and crowned a homecoming queen. Then at the end The Showband of the South showed why they are so called. What a negative and misleading headline. Don’t kick us because our football team is down this year. We will rise again. There is a reason Tate has been around since 1878 and it isn’t because we give up easily.
