Photos: Move That Bus! Extreme Home Makeover Reveal

October 25, 2010

With superstar Mariah Carey, the Tate Showband of the South, a Christmas parade and thousands screaming “Move That Bus!”, Finis Gaston saw his new “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” home for the first time Sunday afternoon.

Crowds waited for hours as bands and cheerleaders and TV production crews practiced in front of the new 3,600 square foot house, which was completely decked out with Christmas decorations. The Extreme Makeover episode filmed Sunday in Pensacola will air as a Christmas special on December 12.

Then the excitement erupted as a white van drove up to the home  on Rainbow Avenue, and out stepped Mariah Carey — a pop legend with more number one songs to her name than Michael Jackson.

But the crowning moment was the one we’ve all seen played out on TV so many times — a limousine drove up behind the Extreme Makeover bus. On cue, the crowd yelled those famous words — “Move That Bus!”. And then Finis Gaston, along with the nieces and nephews in his care, stepped into their new home.

The design of what they saw — four bedrooms, three baths and a nursery — will remain a secret until the show airs in December.

I think what everybody has done for this family was awsome.. Parent’s of the Neices, & Nephews are no concern to you or any one else..Let the man do his job raising his neice’s & nephew’s.. If not just think where they could be today.. Absent Parent’s doesnt make them a bad Parent. I beleive God has a reason for this to happen and I’m sure it was very hard for a single man to be raising his neice’s & nephew’s.. Just Thank God for what he has done for them.. It could be worse.. I Thank You Jesus for everything you have done for this family.. I dont even know this Man but he seem’s to be very grateful for what he is doing..The Lord dont just Bless you cause you need something, or want something.. It takes time for the Lord to do his Work.. Amen, I hope each & everyone of you will keep your comment’s to your self about this Gentleman doing what’s right for his family..Just be gratful for what the Lord has done for his FAMILY! Thank you extreme Make over for giving this family another great chance at Life.. The Hose is Beautiful. No matter what square footage it is.. They have dream’s ans thank’s to Extreme Makeover, They made it happen for this family.. God is Good!!

CTH – with people like you, who needs negative people. Smile and be happy, not jealous.

One more thing….. Why would they put this family in a bad neighborhood. Crescent Lake used to be a nice neighborhood in the 80’s…

Renea you are a loser. Is your conscience eating at you or what?
Why would you want to dig someone up, you don’t even know? You must be guilty of something. Get a Life! This man deserves it. God graces good not evil!

Should take care of your own before taking care of nieces and nephews. Guess that’s the taxpayers responsibility. Come on people how many of you have a house this large? What’s wrong with an average size home. As I have said before how much volunteer work has he done? Let’s see what he can give back. Quit getting traffic infractions and you may be able to pay your child support. Your one big paycheck for Okaloosa county. Escambia county taxpayers welcome the new family.

How many nieces and nephws? Things sure have changed or was I mislead. I thought if you had children you took care of them, not a family member. But Mr. Gaston. if you are raising these kids on your own you are to be commended, it’s not an easy task. As for the parents, it doesn’t say much for them. Sorry!!
