This was the most screwed up mess Escambia County School Board has ever done. This is the second day of school and parents are still taking their children to school. I was at Bratt this morning when the “head of transportation” was there. When i asked him why they made these changes last minute and what was wrong with the way we’ve always done it, all he said is “we didn’t make them last minute, We have been working on them for two weeks” what ever happened to if it’s not broke, leave it alone?. He then said “rest assured, your children will be on the bus this afternoon.” well who has faith that that will happen? Why do we pay these people with our tax money? It is not the school’s fault. Amazingly enough, we went back to the old routes yesterday, but a bunch of the stops still are not on the list. Tina Vickery called me from the dept of transportation and left me a message that my kids would be on the bus this afternoon, never said what time they should be home, but said she needed to know the children’s names. Why wouldn’t they already have that information? Such a waste of tax money!!!!

  2. Question ? on August 23rd, 2010 7:06 pm

The bus route was wrong for 23-06/Eubanks. The time for middle and high school was incorrect. I thought it was incorrect. I know the info. was obtained from the transportation dept at the school district. It’s okay though, mistakes happen. Praying for our kids, teachers and all the schools!

    God Bless!

Irresponsible to post these routes to the public! You are asking for trouble. Thank God I don’t live in Escambia County!

look at the times, elementary is picked up about an hour before middle and high

  5. Question ? on August 20th, 2010 10:39 am

Are elementary, middle, and high riding the bus at the same time? I was looking at a route and it has the same bus# and driver for Bratt/Northview. This looks a little confusing and off.

everyone should check the bus route for their kid(s). some addresses are not uptodate, or even missing. if yours is one of these, you really need to contact the transportation department so they can update the route…to be sure the driver knows where they need to stop.
I was one that had to do this because we were not listed as a morning stop, only afternoon.
thanks again William for keeping us parents up to date! :o )

If your child attends Byrneville, make sure your phone number is up to date with the office staff. One of the bus drivers (Mrs. Janis or Mrs. Flowers) will call you personally to let you know your child’s pickup and drop off times.

    > what about byrneville

Sorry, Byrneville has not provided us with any information.

The info above is from Escambia County. Since Byrneville is a charter school, they are not included in the county’s route schedules.
