Terry Louis Elkins

Terry Louis Elkins, age 80, from Atmore, Alabama left this world for his Heavenly home on October 6, 2024. He was a U.S Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War and later retired from Ford Motor Company in Louisville, KY. He was born in Bedford, Indiana to Thelma Rose and Wayne Edgar Elkins on March 10, 1944.

He married Sylvia Diane Barlow on November 13, 1964 and fathered two children: Erica (Donald) Little of Atmore, Alabama, and Kimberly (Rodney) Johnson of Perdido, Alabama. Five grandchildren: Joshua Husband of Atmore, AL, Meredith (Mark) Morrow of Perdido, AL, Joseph (Whitney) Husband of Atmore, AL, Paul Lawson Jr of Atmore, AL, and Matthew Lawson of LaGrange, KY. With the second marriage of Erica, he gained another grandchild, Kerven (Casey) Little of Pensacola, FL. Great grandchildren in birth order include Keegan Little of Pensacola, FL, Naomie Lawson of McDavid, FL, Mark Jr, Mia, and Marie Morrow of Perdido, AL, Zayne Lawson of Atmore, AL, Rowan and Grayson Husband of Atmore, AL, and Miranda Morrow of Perdido, AL.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings (Joan Hutchins, Larry Elkins, and Jerry Elkins).

He is survived by his two daughters; two sisters (Lorretta Brock of Jeffersonville, IN and Wanda (J.C.) Wright of Seymour, IN), one brother, Garry (Lisa) Elkins of Medora, IN; six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gene King and Pastor Glenn Weber officiating.

Interment was in Serenity Gardens in Atmore, AL with military honors.
