Ruth Ann Miller

Ruth Ann Miller, 81, of Molino, Florida died Peacefully in her home on August 21, 2024. She was born September 15 th 1942 in Meadville, Pennsylvania to Samuel John and Cynthia Burkhardt. After she graduated high school she moved to Washington, DC to take a job as a Clerk where she met a small-town southern man from Pineview, Alabama who was serving in the Army. They were married October 13 th of 1961. The two moved to Ensley, Florida and started their family. Ruth and Roger had three sons, John, Jimmy, and Steve. Not long after that, they moved to Molino, Florida and that is where they raised their boys. After moving from the north, Ruth quickly perfected her southern cooking skills and became known for them. She took pride in always taking care of her family and would even take a job when it was necessary to make ends meet, but her greatest titles were Mama and Granny. She took great pride in watching her family grow, especially her great-grandchildren.

In retirement Ruth and Roger were able to spend time together camping, traveling and being grandparents. They loved traveling with friends and playing/listening to music together and camping on the shores of Lake Martin, Alabama. She would often tell stories of how those were some of her favorite memories of their 42 years together.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel John and Cynthia Burkhardt; husband Houston “Roger” Miller. She is survived by her 3 sons John Miller, Jimmy (Becky) Miller, and Steve (Tracey) Miller. Grandchildren April (Adam) Glass, Eli (Sarah) Miller, Kimberly (Robert) Waren, Zach Miller, and Justin Miller. Niece Carol Parks, Nephew Jim Burkhardt; 8 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Crabtree Church Cemetery, Molino, Florida. Visitation will be prior to service at 9 to 10 a.m.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 South Highway 29, Cantonment, is entrusted with arrangements.
