Evelyn Jurjens passed away Thursday morning, May 30, 2024 after a humble yet fulfilling 87 years of life. Evelyn was born in Canoe, Alabama to Ruth and Verlon Gee, and raised in Pensacola, Florida. Evelyn met her husband Raymond Lester Jurjens while he was stationed in Pensacola. Raymond was a US Navy service member. He and Evelyn had two sons, Stevon Jurjens and Stan Jurjens. Ray and Evelyn were devout Christians and enjoyed the company of friends and family. They would often take pleasure in inviting guest to their home for meals or to spend time to go out to eat. They also did an extensive amount of traveling and relished the chance to go camping and fishing. They were deeply proud of their family and instilled a passion for close family relations. Evelyn was an avid homemaker and took up several hobbies, such as sewing, embroidering, painting, cake decorating, bread baking, and bird watching.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband in 2013 after 54 years of marriage, and had the belief she would be reunited with him and her mother, Ruth Dennis, that she so dearly loved and missed.
