Joe Rex Chandler

Joe Rex Chandler, age 82, of Flomaton, AL passed away on May 2, 2024 in Brewton, AL.
He was born on April 12, 1942 in Coosa County, AL to Denver and Boncile Galloway
Chandler. He was a longtime member of Atmore Baptist Temple and the owner/operator
of J & J Janitorial Services. Joe’s smile was contagious and he never met a stranger. He is
preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eva Jewel Smith Chandler; his sons, Terry
Chandler and Tim Chandler, and his siblings, Dykes Chandler, Jerry Chandler and Jean
Bragg.
He is survived by his daughter, Tonya (Tim) Lee; his stepchildren, Joey (Angel) Lister,
Michelle Hammonds, and Alisa (Kenny) Pierce; his daughter-in-law, Melanie Chandler;
twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Odom officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill
Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m.
at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
