I am glad the speed limit is being reduced. But I don’t think its enough to just swap a sign. The corridor is large and flat, and driver compliance is low around here. Drivers will continue to drive as fast as they feel comfortable. If safety and flow are the goals, the design of the corridor needs to change to enforce the speed you want drivers to comfortably go. Leaving problematic drivers to be their own solution is bad math.
Bikes deserve separated infrastructure too (as comments agree, they are not cars and shouldn’t be on the road for cars), but that is a network topic, not just a single-road topic.

Seth – bicycle lanes.. when bicycles get license plates and pay the same tax amount generated by a car then the state should pay for and clean up the road, its built for cars and paid for by cars, bicycles are nothing but a hinderance and danger to the driving public. There are lots or parks and other kiddie places to use toys.

Speed bumps and clean bicycle lanes. The roads have raised reflectors between the lanes for people who like driving in Braille. The bicycle lanes have no raised reflectors to accommodate the “Text & Drivers” that drive carelessly into bicycle lanes during rush hours. The State Should be held accountable for the horrific conditions of the Bicycle lanes on our state Highways. Broken glass, auto parts, nails, screws, tire wire, garbage, you name it. Pensacola should be a tourist attraction, not a deterrent.

Driver is so correct. Hardly anyone pays attention to speed limits. You can drive 5 miles over the speed limit and other cars tail gate your vehicle and fly by like angry hornets as soon as there is an opening

When we see tickets being written the whole pack will slow down. This is one of the best by-passes in town.
