I started Tate in Aug 1952 after moving here from Elmore county near Wetumpka ,AL..we lived on Pauline ..a dirt road …I was in 2nd grade..MS Downy was my teacher that year..In 1953 we moved to a house over on hwy 29 next to Myricks store and Gonzalez post office…I used to watch Gerald Myrick , the post master. , through the mail onto the mail car when the L&N would slow thru Gozalez …Hwy 29 then in now hwy 95 now..my bedroom was right where the frozen foods atWinn Dixie is now..When I get out of my 4Runnet these days at WD , I always thank God for being raised in Gonzalez Fl. I walked to Tate every day with the Jennings , Webb, Myrick,s and others. I graduated in 1963..It was a different life in those days..A wonderful , joy filled life…Go Aggies
