Tiny Beatrice Rigby Bolton, age 91, of Walnut Hill, FL, passed away on June 5, 2023, in Mobile, AL. She was born on October 9, 1931, in Bratt, FL, to Ely and Virgie Castillow Rigby. She attended First Baptist Church of Canoe. She is preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings and her grandson, Zackary Bolton.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, James C. Bolton; her daughter, Teresa Bolton (David) Brown of Atmore, AL; her sons, James Anthony “Tony” (Kim) Bolton of Franklin, TN and Terry Alan Bolton of Pensacola, FL; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Bro. Arnold Hendrix and Bro. Waylon Stuckey officiating. Private interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery.

Jacquelyn Darlene Clemmons Killam, 64, of Stockton, AL (Boatyard) passed away on June 2, 2023 in Canoe, AL. She was born August 9, 1958, in Atmore, AL to Jack E. Clemmons and Willodean Rowell Clemmons. She is preceded
by her father, Jack E. Clemmons; one son, Charles Mathieu Mitchell and her stepfather, Charles Davis.
She is survived by her mother, Willodean Rowell Davis of Atmore, AL; one sister, Pam Christensen (Pete) of Cantonment, FL; two brothers, Donald D. Clemmons of Atmore, AL and Jack Elliott Clemmons Jr. of Atmore; one daughter, Sondra Glass McKinley (Kevin) of Canoe, AL; one son, Joseph Mitchell of Cantonment, FL and eight grandchildren Autumn (Josh) Day, Abbygail Reed, Jackson Reed, Mathieu Mitchell, Kamryn Mitchell, Joey Mitchell, Charlie Mitchell and Thomas Mitchell. Also, by her adored fur baby, Newly, a multitude of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and her Boatyard Family.
Jackie enjoyed spending time with her friends and family especially around a backyard fire. She loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing and gardening. She adored her dog, Newly, and considered him one of her children. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Get Help With Government Issues During Upcoming Beulah Constituent Services Day
June 6, 2023
Local residents will be able to receive the assistance they need from various government offices during a Constituent Services Day in Beulah laster this month.
State Rep. Michelle Salzman will host the event in conjunction with U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, Escambia County Commissioner Jeff Bergosh, Escambia County Tax Collector Scott Lunsford, and the Veterans Affairs team to assist constituents with local, state and federal casework issues.
“My collaborative relationship with our elected officers at all levels of government has been extremely beneficial to our constituents,” Salzman said. “We work very closely together and we have hosted this ‘one stop shop’ in an effort to ensure whatever issues our constituents face can be addressed.”
The tax collector’s office will be on site with the new mobile identification card program.
The Constituent Services Day will be held Tuesday, June 20 from 1-3 p.m. at Beulah Freewill Baptist Church at 7651 Mobile Highway.

Ms. Helen Marie Hallman, 84, passed peacefully June 4, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Known affectionately as “Momma” or “Nanny,” she had a deep love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her great-great grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of loyalty and devotion to those she so fiercely cared about. Ms. Helen was a proud member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians where she served in many capacities including the Tribal Council and Housing board for several years. Because of her passion for breast cancer awareness, after being a survivor herself, Ms. Helen directed seminars for several years at the Wind Creek Ballroom. Before her passing, Ms. Helen resided at the Lavan Martin Assisted Living Facility and filled the role of confidant, mentor, and friend to many of the residents and staff.
Ms. Helen is preceded in death by her parents Levi and Treacy McGhee; 8 sisters- Martha Wilson, Carlie Dalrymple, Imogene Sheets, Deloris Kelley, Velma Crocker, Myrtis Kinman, Eva-Nell Burkett, Donna White; and 2 brothers- Leo and Fred Lee McGhee. She is survived by her 3 children- Cindy (Scott) Martin, Rodney Exum, and Ryan Exum; 5 grandchildren- Trent (Heather) Jackson, Amber Banda, Christopher Frost, Jordan (Brian) Moore, and Cliff (Julia) Martin; 9 great grandchildren- Bailey (Drake) Jarvis; Bradley Spann; Haley, Hayden, and Hayeslyn Jackson; Maddie, Will, and Wes Moore; 2 great- great grandchildren, Bentleigh and Taytum Jarvis; and 2 sisters- Eldnar and Judy
McGhee.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Atmore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jon Lister officiating. Interment will follow in New Home Cemetery in Poarch, AL. A reception will follow at Friendly Holiness Church.
Active pallbearers will be Derrick McGhee, Kevin McGhee, Josh Burkett, David A. Kinman, Greg McGhee, Dakota Sheets, and Scott Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Colbert, Carl Faye McGhee, Jarrell Hollinger, Keith Martin, and Dewitt McGhee.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Atmore Memorial Chapel.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to the Lavan Martin Assisted Living Facility, Southern Care Hospice, and the Poarch Band of Creek Indians for the wonderful care provided to our dear Mother. A special “Thank you” to all the support and love shown by our family and community during this time. It is all very much appreciated.

California Man Killed In I-10 Crash Near Nine Mile Road Exit
June 5, 2023
A 65-year old California man died in an early Monday morning wreck on I-10 near the Nine MIle Road exit.
The man was driving his pickup truck eastbound in the outside lane when he left the roadway to the right, crossed back over the eastbound travel lanes and overturned in the median, the Florida Highway Patrol said in their report.
The man from San Jose, California, was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other vehicles involved.
Three Reportedly Injured In Highway 29 Crash Sunday Night
June 5, 2023
Three people were reportedly injured in a two vehicle crash on Highway 29 Sunday night.
The crash happened shortly after 9 p.m. on Highway 29 southbound about a half mile south of Highway 196, near the Beams of Light Church.
Escambia County EMS transported the injured persons to a Pensacola hospital.
Highway 29 southbound was closed during the crash investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. Escambia County Fire Rescue and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
Additional details have not been released.

Topics To Include Beulah Master Plan, OLF-8 At District 1 Town Hall Tonight

Escambia County District 1 Commissioner Jeff Bergosh will hold a town hall Monday night in Beulah.
Bergosh is expected to address the Beulah Master Plan and upcoming development of OLF-8. Commissioner
He will also utilize “agree” or “disagree” cards so residents can answer questions posed during the town hall. Comment cards will be available for county staff to address residents’ concerns.
The town hall will take place from 6-8 p.m. at Beulah Middle School, 6001 West Nine Mile Road.
Honeysuckle Garden Club Awards Scholarship
June 5, 2023
The Honeysuckle Garden Club recently awarded their first scholarship.
The $500 scholarship was awarded to Cole Poston.
Poston plans to major in horticulture and minor in botany. He will attend Pensacola State College for his first two years and will transfer to University of Florida at the Milton campus.
