Howard “Mac” McCormick

November 3, 2022

Howard “Mac” McCormick, age 65, passed from this earth to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 27, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Those that know him, know he has been longing to be in heaven for the last 10 years. Mac was born on December 17, 1956 to Mac and Clara McCormick. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Morgan. Mac married his childhood sweetheart, Debi, on July 1, 1977 and moved to Mobile, AL for a couple of years before permanently moving to Pensacola where he worked in the electrical wholesale business for many years before developing his own custom homebuilding business, a job he dearly loved. Mac was very active in church, first at East Brent Baptist, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher, then at Hillcrest, where he led a Connect Group. The members of both of these groups are family that he chose. His fervent desire was for everyone he knew to find joy of his salvation, Jesus Christ, in order to spend eternity with him. He enjoyed westerns, traveling and getting together with close friends for game nights at each other’s houses.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Debi McCormick, his daughter Lindsay McDonald, his son-in-love, Kenny McDonald and their two children, Kinsely and Tripp, his parents, brother Scott and his wife Celeste McCormick, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be prior to service from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Samaritan’s purse Operation Christmas Child or the church of your choice.

I can tell you this not only was “Mac”a fine person to be around but he was an outstanding home builder . When he built a house it was like he was going to live in it himself. “Mac” built the house that I live in now and was a pleasure doing business with him . “Mac”your new home in heaven is already built. Enjoy with our Savior Jesus Christ .
