Mr. Leon Hawthorne, age 89 of Brewton, passed away Sunday evening September 04,2022, surrounded by family and friends.
Mr. Hawthorne was a native of Cantonment, Florida and a Brewton resident for the past 16 years. He served in the United States Army, during the Korean War era, and retired as a Bottomer Operator from St. Regis Paper Company after 30 years of dedicated service.
Mr. Hawthorne enjoyed fishing, hunting, and wood working. He was of the Holiness faith, and a faithful member of Beams of Light Holiness Church in Molino, Florida.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Fleming Hawthorne of Brewton, Alabama; daughter Sherry (Olen) Morris of Stanardsville, Virginia; sons, Richard (Shelia) Hawthorne of Flomaton, Alabama, Michael (Beth) Hawthorne of Clear Springs, Alabama, Gregory (Marion) Hawthorne of Brewton, Alabama; sister Ouida Richards of Pensacola, Florida; grandchildren, Tammy (Destry) Findley of Flomaton, Alabama, Roger (Tally) Hawthorne of Pensacola, Florida, Michael (Heather) Hawthorne of Robertsdale, Alabama, Kelly (Stephen) Young of Torrance California, Amy Morris of Crozet Virginia, Robert (Kelsey) Morris of Barboursville Virginia, David (Candace) Morris of Barboursville Virginia, Clay (Tanya) Hawthorne of Flomaton, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Buck Hawthorne of Pensacola, Florida, Rory Hawthorne of Pensacola, Florida, Hank Hawthorne of Pensacola, Florida, Mia Hawthorne of Robertsdale, Alabama. Lily Young of Torrance, California, Addison Morris of Barboursville, Virginia, Makenzie Morris of Barboursville, Virginia, Connor Morris of Crozet, Virginia, Landon Morris of Crozet, Virginia, Tanner Morris of Barboursville, Virginia, Amberley Morris of Barboursville, Virginia, Sawyer Thomley of Flomaton, Ambria and Greyson Hawthorne of Flomaton., Alabama.
Preceded in death by his father and mother, Mannon Hawthorne and Connie Tyree; sisters, Earline Mitchell, Verna Wood, Mary Padgett; brothers, Cecil Hawthorne, Danny Tyree; grandchildren, Ryan Hawthorne and Brent Hawthorne.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, September 07,2022 from 6 P.M. until 9 P.M. at Cravers Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mr. Leon Hawthorne will be held Thursday afternoon September 08, 2022, at 2 P.M. from the chapel of Cravers Funeral Home with Brother Philip Deane, and Brother Donnis Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in Beams of Light Holiness Church Cemetery in Molino Florida, with Cravers Funeral Home directing.

Sorry for your loss. We both worked with Mr Hawthorne, he was a very fine man. I know he will be missed. Prayers for the family.
