Edith McBride Barnes

September 5, 2022

Mrs. Edith McBride Barnes 94, of McDavid, Florida went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2022

Edith was born July 6, 1928 to Noah and Betty McBride in Chumuckla, Florida. She was a beautician by trade, which she practiced for 40 years.

Edith is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Grady Barnes Sr.; one son James R. Barnes of Bluff Springs, Florida; her parents Noah and Betty McBride of Byrneville, Florida; one brother Mr. W.A. McBride; and one sister Mrs. Neil McBride Austin both of Pensacola, Florida.

Edith is survived by one son Mr. Grady Barnes Jr. and Pat Hendrix, of Tensaw Alabama; a daughter Mrs. Donna C Rydzowski and husband Steve of McDavid, Florida, and one brother Mr. Ray McBride and wife Miriam of Century, Florida. Edith was blessed with 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

She cherished her deep spiritual relationship with the Lord thy God, and treasured her church family at Little Escambia Baptist Church in Flomaton, Alabama.

Edith loved to fish, she and Grady spent countless happy hours attempting to best one another with the biggest catch of the day. All the family loved to hear the tall tells born of many Alabama River outings and joy filled weeks spent at their Boatyard Landing, fishing camp.

Her family will sorely miss her, strength, rugged sprit, and steely grit, all characteristics of a generation rapidly fading. Most of all we will miss the love she shared so freely. This love will remain forever in our memories.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Mr. Jamie Barnes, Mr. Grady L. Barnes, Mr. Steve W. Rydzowski, Mr. David B. Barnes, Mr. Jeremy Barnes, Mr. Josh G. Barnes, and great-grandson Mr. Steven W. Rydzowski II

Services for Mrs. Edith Barnes will be as follows:

There will be a service conducted by the Reverend’s Larry Patterson and Jonathan Hill of Little Escambia Baptist Church, held at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home on September 6th at 10:00 am followed by grave side service at Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery in Chumuckla, Florida.

It was Edith’s wish that instead of sending flowers a contribution be made, in her memory, to Little Escambia Baptist Church Building program, or in some other way to further the gospel of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, if you wish
