I know the father of this young. And I got the pleasure of meeting this child. He was always very sweet and polite. God please be with both families in this time of need!!!
I have walked the sidewalks of Bentley Oaks daily for almost 5 years, and Sunday Morning as I walked past this young boys home, I did not know what had occurred. I learned about it at church from a fellow neighbor, and I was heartsick. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen this young boy on his bike, but always on the street where he lived. He was always very polite and spoke when I said hello, always respectful of an elderly neighbor. I cannot find the words to express the sadness I feel for his family. I can only hope that the family will find the strength to endure this and move forward. I know they are a family of faith, and I pray that will sustain them. I want them to know that everyone in this neighborhood has been deeply touched by this tragedy and wishes them peace and comfort.
I am so so sorry for this tragedy. There are no words that can bring your family comfort. Please know that God is aware and loves you all.
Whenever I see kids on bikes my foot AUTOMATICALLY goes to the brake . . . you NEVER know what’s going to happen! I had a near miss when I was that age, going down a hill I couldn’t stop because of loose gravel! They pulled my bike out from being pinned under the car, by the race of God I missed the wheels. My condolence to the families involved in this tragedy!
There are no words or really anything any of us can do to lessen the blow and the deep deep wound this family has suffered. RIP to the lil dude. Life hadnt even begun!!!
Praying for this family. May God give you strength and peace.
My boy is 10 also….this has to be devastating….
This broke my heart to read! My heartfelt condolences & prayers to this child’s family & friend’s. Also many prayers for the driver of truck. May God give peace to the family & the driver. Such a tragic accident.
Perhaps not related to this accident, but could the developer (Mitchel Homes) not complete the last 70 feet of sidewalk so that pedestrians don’t have to walk/ride bikes in the road at this Bentley Oaks entrance?
So sorry for the family loss. Sending prayers to the family and friends.
Horrible for all involved, yet CR297A remains a very dangerous road. I have tried to get the county to make the road safer over the years to no avail, their response is that it meets “established guidelines”. Trucks use it as a cut through to avoid HWY 29 even tho it was designated no trucks about ten years ago, cars and construction trucks travel too fast. The road is 99% homes, there are four churches on it, on the north end the speed limit is 35 mph but the rest is 45, makes no sense. Prayers sent.
Prayers and strength for this young boys family and friends. Prayers to the driver who is dealing with this horrible situation may god be with each family.
tears rolled down my face when I read this . my heart goes out to both parties
Heartbreaking
Offering my heartfelt sympathies to the child’s family and to the driver of the truck. How tragic for both.
Prayers to this childs family and the driver of the truck and family.
