Charles R. Jones

Charles R. Jones, 86, of Milton, FL was reunited with the love of his life, Sue (Carroll) Jones, on May 24, 2022.

He spent many days talking about how much he was looking forward to seeing her again in heaven. He is together with her and all his other family members. He was born in Santa Rosa County, FL. He spent four years in the United States Air Force.

Charles was blessed with three children, Teresa, Melissa, and Devan.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sue Carroll Jones; his parents, Andrew Jackson Jones and Gwendolyn Benise Jones of Milton, FL.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Teresa S. Jones (Charles) McCranie of Milton, FL; and Melissa A. Jones (Willie) Nisewonger of Century, FL; by his son, Charles (Devan) Jones of Milton, FL; and his beloved granddaughter Dr. Hannah E. Jones of Jacksonville, FL.

Visitation will be held for family only from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Sunday, May 29 at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel. A Graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29 at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Milton, FL. Lewis Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be his sons-in-law, Charles G. McCranie and Willie G. Nisewonger, Mary Jones, Ronnie Hammond, Billy Criswell, and Hayden Hammond.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to all the staff and CNAs of Century Center for Rehabilitation and Healing for taking good care of him during his stay, and a very special thanks to Vitas Hospice Nurse, Abby, for his peaceful transition.
