Angel Luis Ortiz-Hernandez

Angel Luis Ortiz-Hernandez, 90, of Molino, Florida departed on Thursday April 28, 2022 while at home. Angel was born to Candido Ortiz and Christina Castro on January 13, 1932, in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. He shared many great memories of growing up with his 17 brothers and sisters.

On July 16, 1951 Angel was inducted in the Army at Fort Buchanan Puerto Rico and served in the Korean War. Received Korean Service Medal with a Bronze Stars; United Nations Service Medal; and Combat Infantry Badge. Served from 1951 to 1953 as SFC and transferred to reserve service 1954 to 1959.

On May 14, 1955 in Pureto Rico. Angel wed his best friend and the love of his life., Carmen A. Camacho. Their union spanned for 67 years and produced three lovely children, Gilbert, Nydia and Lissett.

He is survived by his wife Carmen A. Ortiz at home; daughters, Nydia Santana, Lissett Ortiz, Waleska Camacho Cruz; son-in-laws, Felo Santana, Steven Cruz; granddaughters, Cynthia Ortiz, Elizabeth Ortiz, Alanis Cruz Camacho, Gianely Cruz Camacho; Grandsons, Feliciano Santana, Angel Santana; Great grandson, Christian Santana; godson, Victor Camacho; and also loved by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Gilbert Ortiz on January 8, 2022, his parents Carmen A. Camacho and Angel Luis Ortiz-Hernandez; brother-in-law Victor Camacho on January 7, 2022.

A celebration of life for Angel Luis Ortiz-Hernandez will be at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North on Thursday May 5, 2022 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Pastor Phil Fisher will be officiating.
