Mrs. Grace Long (Mammy)

Mrs. Grace Long (Mammy) of McDavid, FL; went to her heavenly home Tuesday, April 19, 2022 in Jay, FL. Mammy was born in Lakeland, FL; February 15, 1927. She was a resident of McDavid most of her life and a member of Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church. As the family matriarch, Mammy’s mission in life was to nurture and feed anyone who came to visit. She was loved and will be remembered and dearly missed.
Survivors include: one son Jimmy (RaeAnne) Long, of Robertsdale, AL; two daughters, Nancy (Ron) Harris, of Cantonment, FL; and Christy (Scobie) Wilcoxon, of McDavid, FL; six grandchildren, Jimmy Long, Jr, Monica Johnson, Lisette Brester, Charlene Stanton, Ashley Jacobi, Kinsey Milner, twelve great-grandchildren, and three great -great- grandchildren.
Her husband, Tommie Dew Long, her parents, Louis Brown and Ruth Pauline Townson Brown and her siblings Paul Brown, Billy Brown and Anna Brown Thomley preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery at 12:00 PM with Rev. Willie Oglesbee presiding.
