License-Free Freshwater Fishing This Weekend In Florida
April 1, 2022
Freshwater fishing this weekend is license-free in Florida.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said license-free freshwater fishing days provide an excellent opportunity for those new to fishing without needing to first purchase a license. On these days, the fishing license requirement is waived for all recreational anglers, including residents and non-residents. All other rules including seasons, bag and size limits still apply.

I believe you still can fish within your county with a cane pole without a license, must have ID with address showing you live in the county though.
I went up Perdido from Ruby’s Fish Camp passed the interstate yesterday, the Bream are starting to bed and the high water isn’t stopping them from biting. I got 6 Bream 3 catfish and a bass. Not the best 3 hrs of fishing, but any time on the river is time well spent…
@Poor ME. Plenty of places to fish besides the river.
of course with all the rivers are flooded from the stupid rain….
