Glenn Wardrop

Mr. Glenn Wardrop, age 78, passed away, Wednesday, October 27, 2021 in Brewton, AL. He was born in Biloxi, MS; and has lived most of his life in Atmore, AL. He was a member of Atmore Community of Christ Church.

Mr. Wardrop valued the time he got to spend with his family, friends, church family and doing his missionary work. He served in the United States Navy and served three tours, in Vietnam War. He was an active member in the VFW Post “7016” in Atmore and served as Chaplin for the post.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles William (Cora Mae Mallette) Wardrop, wife, Dorothy Wardrop, two sons, Andy King, John Wardrop, and one brother, Wyatt Wardrop.

He is survived by his son, Caleb (Kristal) Wardrop, of Brewton, AL; one sister, Katie Smith, of Atmore, AL; two grandchildren, Cade Wardrop, of Brewton, AL; Logan Wardrop, of Mobile, AL; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 12:00 PM at the Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC with Pastor: Beth Linam officiating.

Burial will follow at Serenity Garden Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 11:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC.

Pallbearers will be Matt Salter, Steve Reid, Justin Gates, Jesse Gates, Chase Reid, and Marcus Stewart.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Atmore VFW Post “7016” at 206 West Ashley St. Atmore, AL.36502

    What a terrible loss to the Atmore community. Mr. Wardrop was one of the finest men I have ever known and his passing breaks my heart.
