James Ollie Presley, Jr.

James Ollie Presley, Jr. of Nokomis, AL passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2021 after a long and
well-lived Christian life. He was born on March 17, 1932 to James Ollie Presley, Sr. and Gladys
Weekly Presley.
James is preceded in death by his parents, son and daughter-in-law Edward Allen and Debra
Strawbridge Presley, grandson Troy Presley, great-granddaughter Gabriella Casey, a brother
Glen Presley and sister Jeanine Presley Pipkin.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Daniel Presley, children Laura Smith
(Don), and Mark Presley; grandchildren Allison Presley Wynn (Guy), Anna Presley Ash
(James), Stephanie Roberts Maddox (Walt), Eric Roberts (Morgan), and Kelley Presley Cotton
(Matt); great-grandchildren: Cole, Cameron, Chasen, Ceanna and Cierra Wynn, Jacklyn Ash,
Troy “Tred” Presley, Taylor and Elijah Maddox, Christian and Peyton Roberts, Easton, Weston,
and Oaklyn Cotton; brother Tommy Presley; sister-in-law Fredna Daniel Stewart, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
James grew up in Lottie, AL and lived his entire adult life in Nokomis, AL. He is a Navy veteran
and was employed with Monsanto in Cantonment, FL. James enjoyed teaching Bible studies at
the William F. Green State Veteran’s Home in Bay Minette, AL for over 20 years. He also liked
raising cattle, horses and bird dogs, farming, beekeeping, fishing and hunting.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 2 PM at Johnson-Quimby Funeral
Home with Bro. James Hill officiating. Private interment will follow in Nokomis Baptist Church
Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 1PM until service time at 2 PM at
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
For safety purposes, the family asks that you wear a facial mask and use social distancing
requirements.
