When Morganran for sheriff he said he wouldonly do 2 terms. He believed in term limits. However once he was elected that changed. He didn’t keep his word. He changed into a typical politician. I do hope he doesn’t win. There are others running who would do a better job.

David Morgan was a politician only an refused to talk to anyone as the sheriff an will be the worse mayor we have ever had. Keep this creep retired he has sucked the system enough

Sounds like the right job for Morgan because I am sure the Mayor’s job offers many more photo opportunities. I can see it now; Huge billboards with Morgan’s picture on them welcoming us to Pensacola.

The cool aid drinkers in here defending Morgan clearly have never worked with or for him in a professional setting. He’s not the Sheriff anymore, so you don’t have to suck up to him now.

I wonder when the video of Morgan will pop up of him throwing a temper tantrum at the S.O about two weeks before he was supposed to leave?

@Roy & Eugene, what kool-aid have you 2 been drinking? Roy, did you really say “uninformed trolls hired by the opposition?” Who exactly do you think the opposition is at this point? Morgan mismanaged salaries, working deputies went more than 7 years without a raise. In the meantime, Morgan created an abundance of staff positions that led to a shortage of deputies. Deputies stopped working the fair and escorting funerals because of Morgan’s failures. When the deputies did finally get a raise, Morgan held it over their heads to take them back to the bargaining table.

I could go on and on. You two are swooning over his political charm while overlooking all his failures.

It appears that the unsubstantiated negative comments toward the sheriff are written by uninformed trolls hired by the opposition. This behavior reminds me of sheriff Morgan’s election signs being destroyed or removed around the county during election cycles. It seems that the battle against a good and competent public servant has started again. I’m not surprised though, ….living in an era where good is evil and evil good.

Upon David Morgan’s election as Sheriff, I saw a marked improvement with regard to the manner in which his deputies interacted with Escambia County citizens. The deputies were ALWAYS polite and professional, while displaying an eagerness to find an appropriate solution to the problem at hand. Over the years, I spoke to Sheriff Morgan on more than one occasion and was continually impressed by his courtesy, warmth, and professionalism. Upon hearing Sheriff Morgan over the radio or in public, I personally heard him constantly give praise to his staff members and deputies while bringing to the attention of the public the difficult job each of them carried. I and EVERYONE I know voted for Sheriff Morgan each time he ran for the office. I saw continual honor, commitment, and character in David Morgan and am convinced that he will be an exceptional, and competent Mayor.

I like David Morgan, but enough, I believe he retired from the military, now the Sheriff and wants to run for mayor… another retirement!!! Surely there are other people in Pensacola who could fill this position and have not retired from some other occupation..

I’m so tired of this guy. And I don’t want to see his face on billboards all over town again.

Wonder what “Captain Crunch” will come up with for his Mayoral Costume?
Surely it will have many medals, sashes, dangly gold brade, polished leather and perhaps a ginormous rubber sword. Whatever it is it’ll be a “Humdinger”.
    Pensacola, “Just say NO”

He can’t be worse than ol Grover

  18. Debbie on April 10th, 2021 4:11 am

For those with negative comments …he didn’t keep getting elected over and over again for no reason . It was because the majority of voters liked him .

Liz, I couldn’t have said it better! As a former Detention Deputy, and former employee of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, I witnessed is inability to properly manage the department. He couldn’t run a pack of hounds let alone the department! God forbid the city of Pensacola elects this bumbling Idiot. Every man and woman that put countless hour in protecting our county can tell you that Mr. Morgan took the credit in the face of the media and hardly ever patted his staff on the back. I ask everyone to look very deep before you allow him to run your city.

Simply stated: Escambia County has had enough of Mr. Morgan. Enjoy your retirement. Escambia County will be just fine with someone new.

    They deserve him.
