The Pensacola Independent News has released their 2021 Inweekly Power List — their ranking of the most powerful and influential people in Escambia County.
Only one person that works primarily in the North Escambia area was named to the list — NorthEscambia.com publisher William Reynolds for the ninth year.
Topping this year’s list was Sue Straughn from our news partners WEAR-TV.

Congratulations and thank you Mr. Reynolds! This is well deserved recognition for a hard job that is done amazingly well. The NE news site is the best there is and has meant so much to so many for so long. You and your staff keep the community freely and accurately informed with very few ads and no annoying click bait. That’s extremely rare.. wait ..non-existent! Your clear corona virus coverage has been a much needed community service this year. NE has laid it out there for us like no other site has and we are grateful. The hard to find crime and political coverage are always greatly needed and appreciated as well. I was a journalism student in high school, when I had the privilege of attending a weekend workshop that Sue Straughn led. It was one of the highlights of my high school experience. I’ve been gone from the area for 30 years now, but enjoy reading the news on Norhescambia.com. What a joy to see Ms. Straughn still active. Congratulations!
