$600 Stimulus Payments Are Now Being Delivered

YouR $600 economic stimulus check may already be in your bank account.
The IRS and Treasury Department began delivering the second round of stimulus payments directly to bank accounts Tuesday night, and the direct deposits will continue into next week. The first paper checks will hit the mail on Wednesday.
The IRS emphasizes that there is no action required by eligible individuals to receive this second payment. Some Americans may see the direct deposit payments as pending or as provisional payments in their accounts before the official payment date of January 4, 2021. The IRS reminds taxpayers that the payments are automatic, and they should not contact their financial institutions or the IRS with payment timing questions.
As with the first round of payments under the CARES Act, most recipients will receive these payments by direct deposit. For Social Security and other beneficiaries who received the first round of payments via Direct Express, they will receive this second payment the same way.
Anyone who received the first round of payments earlier this year but doesn’t receive a payment via direct deposit will generally receive a check or, in some instances, a debit card. For those in this category, the payments will conclude in January. If additional legislation is enacted to provide for an additional amount, the Economic Impact Payments that have been issued will be topped up as quickly as possible.
Eligible individuals who did not receive an Economic Impact Payment this year – either the first or the second payment – will be able to claim it when they file their 2020 taxes in 2021. The IRS urges taxpayers who didn’t receive a payment this year to review the eligibility criteria when they file their 2020 taxes; many people, including recent college graduates, may be eligible to claim it. People will see the Economic Impact Payments (EIP) referred to as the Recovery Rebate Credit (RRC) on Form 1040 or Form 1040-SR since the EIPs are an advance payment of the RRC.
Authorized by the newly enacted COVID-relief legislation, the second round of payments is generally $600 for singles and $1,200 for married couples filing a joint return. In addition, those with qualifying children will also receive $600 for each qualifying child. Dependents who are 17 and older are not eligible for the child payment.
U.S. citizens and resident aliens who are not eligible to be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s income tax return are eligible for this second payment. Eligible individuals will automatically receive an Economic Impact Payment of up to $600 for individuals or $1,200 for married couples and up to $600 for each qualifying child. Generally, if you have adjusted gross income for 2019 up to $75,000 for individuals and up to $150,000 for married couples filing joint returns and surviving spouses, you will receive the full amount of the second payment. For filers with income above those amounts, the payment amount is reduced.

January 31 2021, 5:00am. I don’t get it, what’s the problem? I get my tax payments alto payed into my bank acct. I got the 2020 stimulus check in the mail for $1.200.00 and the IRS didn’t send me a letter telling me I’ll receive it, it just came to me in the mail. Now they say I’ll get the second check of $600.00 by mail the same as the last and I’ll get a letter in the mail telling me so that I have not received and that this check would be at my home in the mail by January 5 2021. It’s now January 31 2021. NO LETTER & NO CHECK. Hmmmmm I just don’t get it. Also $600.00! Really? Looks like I am in the same boat of many people. My 600 stimulus was scheduled to be mailed 1/6. The first stimulus we got was direct deposit to my account which has not changed since then. So don’t understand why this one is being mailed. IRS is a joke. They have not problem tacking on daily fees and penalty if you owe them money. Jan 24th and still not received it.

To not overwhelm the healthcare providers such that people die simply because they are overloaded, trying to treat too many people at the same time. Some activities are less critical than others. People died yesterday who would be alive and safe next month if the spread had been a bit slower. Some will die tomorrow.

Well, I never received my $1,200 stimulus. I sent the IRS the same information three times and faxed it as well to the rejection team. Finally, after calling several times a week at 7am and losing my healthcare.gov insurance because they did not report to Blue Cross I turned it in, I got a tax advocate. Within three days she was able to connect the papers together. Today, I just received a letter though stating that the IRS could not mail my check by December 31st of 2020. Interesting since the letter is dated January 4, 2021 and it was mailed two days ago. So now, I have no health insurance still, a 560 blood sugar reading, and about to be thrown out on the street. Oh yeah, no $600.00 either.

I have learned that even before making a inquiry, I have to wait at least a week for a “letter” detailing the amount that was sent. My question…why would the IRS send ANYBODY a letter stating that YOUR stimulus check is $3.85!

You may see the money as pending until January 4th, but check the “available” balance in your account. Most Bank accounts show the balance, and then the “available” balance. Although my bank account showed my stimulus payment as pending until January 4th, it still posted in my available balance and therefore I have had access to it. Although many payments are pending, banks across the country are still making the funds available to their customers.

Can anyone shed some light on if payments will come simultaneously or in phases in hopes to have payments received for all children. I did see other people on this thread asking the same- but messages are so off subject not answering the “pending’ payment questions.

I agree with the frustration many people are experiencing, The least the banks could do is keep a comprehensive detailed update for all these poor people waiting and waiting to get this recent check, It may not seem important to some politicians or some of the more well off out there, but to post a pending payment on a persons account then make them wonder and search in vain for answers that could be addressed very easily by the ones in charge at in particular direct express, from the vibe im getting reading some of these blogs all they have done is create anxiety and taken the wind out of their sails, Someone there should have more empathy for those who count on that for a some pretty basic needs which im sure many of us have lost touch with and act noble as can be in their snide comments rebutting their stress.

Not happy about the $600, blame Mitch McConnell and his attempts to add on provisions he knew would destroy any attempt to pass it. The election is over, the states said so, 40+ court cases said so, the conservative Supreme Court said so and most importantly the people and their votes said so.
Trying to attach extra legislation about election issues already decided on to a bill meant to help struggling people is just wrong but it probably doesn’t register to a guy who makes 20 million a year. $2000 would have been a drop in the bucket compared to what we spend on tax breaks for the filthy rich.

How can Mitch McConnel look at the line and lines of people trying to get food. For there family’s . And not send out the 2000 dollar stimulus check. It goes to show that the Gov. does not care about the American People. Some day it will come back at them.
Well, I knew the U.S. government was bad but now I’m getting a real good look but the things I see tell me that their time is running short and that the arise of the American people need to be more focused than ever first they got us with this trial of a pandemic that has caused many lives why they play God on a period to deliver the goods now they set to build there own shelter with taxpayers money by getting all the money and sending taxpayers 600$ well hopefully when we awake to what they have done we dont forget the treason of there actions against there own people.
The Government failed the people. These highly paid Politicians sitting like fat rats on a block of cheese absolutely do nothing for the American People. The corrupted Politicians (Democrat and Republican),send hard working Americans money to foreign countries while our citizens are suffering. We need as people to take back the power we have given these TRAITORS.
Keep in mind that not a single congress person in the last nine months has missed a paycheck, mortgage payment, or medical services, while Americans have seen their businesses go under, unable to meet payroll, or pay their rent. Not to mention the personal lives that have been utterly destroyed. Their actions say “here, be ye filled and happy, and stay warm”. Its an abomination.
