As a retired poll worker from Precinct 19..BARRINEAU PARK COMMUNITY CENTER, I want to say a big THANK YOU to all the local poll workers who served all the voters in this pandemic times…also DAVID STAFFORD is to be commended for his guidance and training of all poll workers…it would be nice if he publicly announced that ESCAMBIA COUNTY VOTING RESULTS ARE ACCURATE AND OFFICIAL.

question willam: Can I as an Escambia County Voter go online and check to ensure my ballot was correctly filed? Obviously there is no contention here in Florida, but seems to me i should be able to review my ballot for accurate processing. Now don’t ask me how one would dispute an inaccurate ballot casting. I haven’t thought that far ahead. Thoughts?

Renters do NOT pay property taxes. Landlords universally charge the maximum the market will allow. Look at this way, if the property tax was abolished would landlords pass the savings on to renters or pocket the money? It’s the same if the tax is increased. They’re still going to charge as much as they can get regardless. No more and no less. If the rent doesn’t cover their expenses they still can’t charge more than the market allows. The only thing that happens is their investment becomes less valuable. If you don’t own property you should consider property taxes a fantastic method for funding the community.

If you are not homeless you pay property. Owners of rental property just don’t itemize it. Who do you know that doesn’t pay.

John………you are so right! I’m tired of paying so much for property taxes. They need to increase sales tax and take that increase for property tax…..Our property tax pays for things like schools, fire districts, and libraries….and other things……People who don’t pay prop. tax get to use all those things…so folks who buy things should pay for things that they use also….
