Any job is better than no job. And no matter how many degrees a person has, when starting a new job you generally start at the bottom and work your way up.

I have no desire to be anyone’s boss. I’ve road that pony, got the t-shirt. I just want to work and earn my own dollar.

Call me! I’ll be glad to monitor the trucks.

I love all the people that are making assumptions about the pay and work conditions… Jeans, work boots.
Get assigned to a truck. Make sure truck crew is picking up roadside tree debris. When truck is full, give truck an electronically printed ticket. Wait in vehicle for truck to return. Verify truck is empty. Repeat.
Pay is $12 an hour, $18 an hour at overtime. You’re a nanny making sure the crews aren’t grabbing stuff from areas they aren’t supposed to be in.
40 hours is really easy to get to. Money is being made in the overtime.
No mileage being paid because you aren’t driving more than 20 minutes to any of the locations where you’ll be working.
I love the math of people just guessing.
Crackheads have to pass a piss test.
Positions aren’t being filled because the job specifies 7 days a week, be available.
It’s a job where you sit on your butt most of the day… “OMG, they call it work all they do is sit…” Um, 65% of the American population sits at a desk for a portion of their day.

“Work” isn’t what I would call it. Saw one of these people sitting in their car in my neighborhood watching other people do real work. If I didn’t have a solid job this would be cake

Most of the jobs are $12 an hour, some $13. There is a lot of slack time on the job that consist of sitting and waiting for trucks to show up. No mileage due to the amount of down time you have, no driving move than15-20 from your home to the location you’ll be working for the shift. Over time is any time over 40. Sat- Fri is the pay period.
They hired everyone that showed at the job fair

Don’t care about all that…I have some specific goals I need to meet…so, this job sounds great. No one starts as the boss.

Hahahahahaha. Good luck filling that position with anything but a crackhead.

Too many long hours and days, pay to low and no mileage compensation.

Alan’s math is correct. If you don’t think so it’s probably because you don’t understand how time and a half works. You can’t just divide $1000 by the total number of hours. You have to account for the law that says every hour over 40 is counted 1.5 times. It’s called overtime. Unless you’re on salary it’s a very important thing to understand when you get paid. It’s also very important to understand this if your boss wants to move you from hourly to salary. When this same job was posted last week there were several miscalculations.

$1000/(12*7)= $11.90 per hour. Doesn’t sound as great now, but it’s a need and people are in need of paying bills.

  12. Alan on September 28th, 2020 10:55 pm

12 hours a day time 7 days a week is 84 hours per week.
That is 40 hours regular time plus 44 hours of time and a half.
That is the equivalent of 40 + 44 + 22 hours of straight time or 106 hours.
    $1000/106 hours = $9.43/hour.

It’s like working 2 weeks with a day off for good behavior but not getting the day off!.

I work 40 hours a week and don’t make that much. Can I work weekends only?

  15. Bill on September 28th, 2020 9:03 pm

    Message to this company:

Just hire twice as many people for 40 hour weeks. This position isn’t filled for a reason. I don’t care what anybody says; nobody wants to work 12 hour days 7 days a week. If I were hiring it would be a red flag if someone claimed they WERE willing to work this much. Even God took Sunday off.
