Curfew Continues In Escambia County For The Next Two Nights
September 17, 2020
A county-wide curfew will be in place the next three nights in Escambia County, including Pensacola and Century, due to Hurricane Sally.
The curfew will be from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Officials will reassess the curfew on Friday.
Law enforcement will have roadblocks in place at some major roadways. The City of Pensacola is relying on voluntary compliance, and residents will be expected to follow the curfew.
Essential workers are not restricted by the curfew, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Was a good idea to have a curfew but people have way too much to do after very little notice to prepare for Sally. We are working between two houses. Going home after dark last night, I saw more cars on the road then IN THE DAYTIME. So yes, I laughed at the thought of the curfew. In this day and age when so much is going on in the world, I am grateful to live in a decent area. Be safe.
Yup yup is right. The curfew is a waste of time and pointless. LEOs don’t even have a way to enforce it. What law does the curfew fall under? If you know, maybe contact a local agency and let them know because they don’t at this point. No guidance was provided. The worst part about this whole thing is it’s meant to keep people home so the electrical crews can work and keep citizens safe. Instead, the crews are turning on the power, downed lines are active in the street, fires are starting and hundreds of ppl in east hill are out walking around in the dark. I guess when some one gets fried they will sue the city… oh, and stop running traffic lights just because they aren’t functioning. It’s a simple rule to treat them like 4 ways but no, ppl just keep running them.
Curfew means nothing, was out last night at 8:30 past two deputies and had one past me never stopped. TOO MUCH LIKE WORK!!!!!!!!!
