    REGARDING:
” 37 deaths are from long term care facilities. My guess is usually when you are in a long term health facility you are already suffering from some type of major health illness.”

“My guess.” Think about it. Then consider the phrase “long term health facility”and its implications. Been there a while, expected to be there a while. Contracted COVID-19 and died. Yes, they were probably weaker than younger people before they died. That’s not the same thing as they should have died because they were old and/or sick.

“I assume if it was the typical flu season and covid19 didn’t exist the numbers would be the same.”

“I assume.” No. High numbers for bad flu years are around 60,000 and that is not a typical year.

“So the mask wearing folks continue to wear them. Weaken your immune systems and wait a few more months. You will be the next casualty of this plandemic.”

That’s one of the most interesting things. People assuming wearing masks will end exposure to pathogens so the immune system will shut down, while AT THE SAME TIME they assume masks are totally useless at reducing exposure in either direction to viruses.

That’s thinking similar to the folks who think a new store shouldn’t be allowed because nobody needs it AND so many people will shop there that they will create major traffic jams. You really can’t have BOTH at the same time.

    David for a little help

when I was in the Navy we used to say, “a hundred years from now who will care.”

most if not all of us will be long dead and I support your “constitutional” right to be buried without a mask.

DK… Who are some of these respectable doctors and experts that are recommending that masks shouldn’t be worn?
Also FYI… I’m a lifelong republican/conservative who is embarrased of the way a lot of other so called republicans are trying to make this global pandemic into a democratic/republican issue. This is a worldwide problem and any attempts to make it into a U.S. political issue are unhelpful and actually harmful.

Exactly Correct Mask Do Nothing.Scare and Live in fear is what Democrat’s want you to do it’s all smoke and mirrors period. If you watch enough respectable Dr’s and experts on this issue you will get it figured out.The people that you’re seeing saying wear a mask are coming out of your the woodwork but I have never seen them before or have no idea who they are go figure.

Professor NoMask… Thanks so much for chiming in with that useful information. I’ll be sure to tell all my friends that Professor NoMask, with all of his experience in virology, has said that masks don’t work.

    @NoMask

There is no guarantee of “herd immunity”. Yes, you can produce anti-bodies, but they may not even last long enough, or be effective enough, to keep you from getting infected a second time.

  7. NoMask on July 5th, 2020 12:19 pm

Mask do not work PERIOD. When we get herd immunity, we will beat this.

  8. Curious on July 5th, 2020 11:24 am

@Big John… Can you please provide some links, from reliable sources, to the research that backs up the claims you are making? When one researches the internet its appears all of the EXPERTS are in agreement that if most people wore masks it would greatly reduce the number of infections. Also, I don’t believe in the last 100 years, there has been a case where 120,000 people have died in 5 months from the flu. That’s not even taking into account the the country was basically shut down for a month of that time. Please feel free to provide sources to prove me wrong.
FYI… Most of the people wearing masks aren’t doing it to make themselve feel safe. The masks help prevent the spread to others in case they were already infected. They are being selfless vs selfish.

How is the positive test case count counted in this situation:
    Person tests positive.
Same Person returns later for test & tests positive
Same person returns later for test & tests positive.

Is this one positive case or is it three positive cases?

  10. Shaking My Head on July 5th, 2020 10:54 am

And? There are cases. Now what? You can’t force people to wear a mask or stay home. Civil Rights Attorney’s are having a field day with all these restrictions.
If you are concerned for your own health wear a mask. You do you and I’ll do me.

    big john

we a a flu shot to help out during flu season, so no, the deaths are not the same.

please, read, what tv, not a political spend that is designed to cover up failures.

  12. Big John on July 5th, 2020 12:16 am

I guess a mask is going to protect you from dying. 37 deaths are from long term care facilities. My guess is usually when you are in a long term health facility you are already suffering from some type of major health illness. I assume if it was the typical flu season and covid19 didn’t exist the numbers would be the same. Most people who are in these facilities already have a compromised immune system. And if they didn’t have a major health problem they wouldn’t be in there. So the mask wearing folks continue to wear them. Weaken your immune systems and wait a few more months. You will be the next casualty of this plandemic. Stop watching tv and do your research. Read the disclaimer on the side of the box these mask come in. Now do you feel safe?

    >>Does anyone know if these test results are from one day of testing or many days? It seems hard to believe 1,339 people would get tested in one day

It represents 1,339 test results that came back on one day. They were not all necessarily tested on the same day. Daily test results have ranged from 301 to 1,623 per day during the last two weeks with an average of 715 per day.

And yet some people still won’t wear masks.
