Escambia Fire Rescue Responds To Smoke Inside Cantonment Grocery Store

Escambia Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire call at the Grocery Advantage on Highway 29 in Cantonment Thursday night.

Firefighters arrived to find a light haze in the building and an electrical smell. The source of the problem was reportedly traced to a cooler or freezer unit.

The store was temporarily evacuation, but there was no damage and no injuries reported.

    I wonder if this has anything to do with why everyone was getting shocked every time they touch something in there? I get popped hard any time I go in there. I know several people complained to management but they just said to,”not shuffle your feet”. The few people I mentioned it to said it sounds like a grounding issue. Someone needs to check into this.

    Good to hear it wasn’t too serious. Good little store that I visit more often than any other one.

    I have been to the Grocery Advantage and touch a cooler case that held meat. When I touched the metal on the case I got a shock. But when I told the cashier she told me that she has heard that before and they had someone to come look at it but they did not find anything.
