Suspects Crash Into Tree After Drive-by Shooting In Cottage Hill

Two fleeing drive-by shooting suspects crashed their pickup truck into a tree Saturday morning in Cottage Hill.
The drive-by shooting was reported about 3:40 a.m. in the area of Handy Road and Williams Ditch Road. No one was hit or injured by the gunfire, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
A short time later the suspect vehicle crashed into a tree on Highway 95A near McKenzie Road. Firefighters had to extricate at least one of the individuals from the truck.
The adult and juvenile transported to a local hospital in serious condition. Once they are released, they are expected to be charged in connection with the drive-by shooting, according to the ECSO.
A gun was recovered from the pickup.

Thank you WellYou and others realizing there is a real concern here for the other neighbors in the area of Handy and Williams Ditch. Myself being one of them. I sincerely hope those involved realize the gravity of their actions and do not just see potential innocent victims, such as nearby neighbors, as necessary casualties of this silly feud. I do not care what it is about. Whatever beef these individuals/families have with each other needs to end. When my child wakes me up because he heard gunshots (which is what happened with this event), we are too close for comfort. Overall this is usually a safe neighborhood but lately I have had my concerns. I hope anyone reading this involved has the sense to recognize that their decisions are bigger than themselves and impact the entire local community.
Why are their identities being withheld? There have been several drive byes in Barrineau Park in the last few months. Related, hmmm? Less patrolling in the North End doesn’t help matters.
According to the living God of the bible, There is a right time to pray and a wrong time.

I doubt these fine additions to our community are beyond praying for, but its highly likely God heard someone’s prayer and The Almighty God grew a tree in their path

Cottage Hill used to be a sleepy little village. McKenzie was just a logging road . Most of the land was devoid of side roads and houses. Biggest crime was night hunting.
Now it needs some “trash removal”..
Stupid games get stupid prizes…..Have no Sympathy for them whatsoever somebody innocent could have got hurt…..

@Tabby Probably sure your no angle speaking so much ill will of the survivors of the drive by. People who where bullied in one of the most dangerous ways, from the receiving end of a load barrel. Pray for Tabby too.
There are good families in that area of Handy Rd And Williams Ditch Rd. It is devastating they were terrorized in the middle of the night by such horror that threatened their lives. And just as bad someone would publicly finger point the victims have something to do with selling or buying drugs, most(Probably) likely a associate of the criminals. Thank you Lord God all the Families in the area didn’t get harmed and others whom could become victims of these criminals are safer.
@Bill—–Really dude? Making fun and calling names at someone because they suggest praying for the folks involved whether it be either side. First, they most likely weren’t just randomly shooting up a house. They people they were shooting at probably weren’t sweet angels or “victims”. Second, your comment shows what type of character you have.
Lastly, you seem like a big mouthed, know it all, wannabe tough guy. Not that it matters. If you are, you’ll run into the right one sooner or later. Pray for Bill y’all, he needs some just as much as the knuckleheads in the article.
If I was a dope cop, I think I would look for all the prisoner dressed young lads with more than 4k facebook friends. Now, I know you can’t judge a book by its cover, but you prolly will get a fair idea what’s inside. These yahoos must be part of quite the local network.

You got people whom did a drive by shooting and then you got some idiot who says pray for all involved. Well I pray the live long enough to go to jail. Some people are plain and simply STUPID. Oh yeah I hope they get better so they can come by my neighborhood lol WRONG!!! I got weapons on my side of the fence and very happy to show you how they work!!!!!!

They see this mess and think they have to do the same or feel slighted in some manner and need to retaliate some way.
Its no game, its going to end BAD, and what you think is IMPORTANT today, will not be important at al when you standing in front of a judge that is ready to sentence you to 25 years to life when you have not even lived that long yet..

It’s sad that there was another wreck at that same spot where too many lives have already been lost or irrevocably altered, but it’s a risk these numbskulls take too often here in Cottage Hill.
The best news about this event is that they aren’t dead, but their freedom and their ride are non-existent and their weapon is no longer available to them. The charges better stick; some of these idiots act as if this area is their private shooting range and my family and others here are sick and tired of it!!!!
