Update: Tate High School Homecoming Changes

October 19, 2019

Due to the Escambia County School District’s decision to cancel all after-school activities Friday because of tropical weather, there are numerous changes to Tate High Homecoming 2019.

The homecoming football game against Washington has been rescheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday. There will be no homecoming parade or court presentation at Saturday’s game.

The homecoming dance is from 8 p.m. until midnight as scheduled Saturday night. The homecoming court will be presented at Saturday night’s dance. All court members and escorts are to report to the multipurpose room at 9:30. After the presentation, the king and queen will be crowned.

Is there some reason the floats, etc, cannot be used on Saturday?

Gotta think that even the most avid fans wouldn’t be real happy in this steady drizzle of rain and cool temps. This is the sort of weather that chills one down to the bone marrow.
Hope we’re fixing a good hearty soup for tonight and toasted cheese sandwiches.

If your having the game why not have the floats before the game?

I hate that the parade and the court will not happen with the game on Saturday. All the hard work that goes into floats to not be seen is sad. I am glad that all games and such are canceled Friday night.
