Three People Killed In Lillian Bridge Crash

October 10, 2019

Three people were killed in a fiery crash Thursday morning on the Highway 98 Lillian Bridge in Escambia County.

Russell Joseph Drummund, age 19 of Elberta, was traveling east from Alabama on the bridge about 4:50 a.m. when his 2007 Chevrolet Impala crossed the centerline into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a Peterbilt box truck hauling lumber, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Drummund and his passenger, 19-year old Christian Coleton Beech of Lillian, were both ejected and pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the truck, 48-year old Sheldon Ray Liddell of Pensacola, was also pronounced deceased on scene.

The bridge was expected to remain closed into the afternoon for cleanup and the investigation.

DAVID, you are the definition of a loser. All of these VICTIMS have families that are picking up the pieces of their lives in this tragedy and taking your moment to shine as a despicable human with nothing of value to say shows what a small, little man you truly are.
My heart breaks for the ALL of the families suffering with their loss.

Very sad for all the families involved.

A few people here posting seem to have all the answers as to why the accident happened. Speculation – the forming of a theory or an opinion without firm evidence and incomplete information.

May God comfort the families and friends of these 3 deceased during this time of grief.

Please everyone BUCKLE UP, this sounds like one of the VERY rare cases where it would have made no difference since it states 2 were thrown from their cars.

My son in-law is a truck driver in Ohio. Less than 2 months ago he was in an accident involving a car. The driver had ran a red light and was t-boned by my son in-law. He was killed instantly and his passenger was injured badly but survived. The total truck load weighed over 35000 pounds. My son in law has to deal with this every day the reminder of this young man. Please everyone drive safely and respect the road you share. May God Bless this family
