Ruth Westbrook Henderson

Ruth Westbrook Henderson passed away on October 13, 2019. She was born in Camden, Arkansas on December 10, 1933, to U.J. and Marjorie (Robert) Westbrook. She grew up in the Pensacola area and graduated from J.M. Tate High School.

Ruth married Samuel L. Henderson and had three children.

She is survived by daughters, Marjorie Show (Tom) of Little Rock and Blieka Yerg (Steve) of Molino, Florida; grandchildren, Jennifer Bracken (Mike) of Ridgeland, Mississippi, Carrie Rice (Brad) of Navarre, Florida, Owen Henderson of Pensacola, Florida, Robin Show of Little Rock, and Alicia Long (Justin) of Walnut Hill, Florida; great-grandchildren, Parker Bracken, Cade, Chase and Coby Rice, Michael Butler, Kaydance and Isabella Long; brothers, Sam Westbrook (Sheila) and Robert Westbrook (Audrey); many nephews and one niece.

She was predeceased by her parents; son, Samuel Henderson, Jr.; grandson, Zachary Show; sister, Betty Curran; nephew, Robert Curran; and her beloved Papillon, Lili.

Ruth was a certified laboratory assistant and worked as a laboratory technician in several hospitals and had an Associate Degree in Accounting obtained at the age of 64. She enjoyed genealogy, using the internet and puzzles of all kinds. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, a campus of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), with Rev. Andreá Cummings and Rev. Mary Hoey officiating.

Memorials may be made to the local Humane Society or to the Little Rock Animal Village.
